SBS is fast turning into the network of medical and legal dramas, as those two genres have been by far the most successful offerings. There was a break with recently finished Reunited Worlds and starting this week While You Were Sleeping, but up next for SBS is a return to the legal genre with K-drama Dilemma. It was originally supposed to be Trapeze with Park Shin Yang but that drama fell through so the network announced this week that after While You Were Sleeping the final drama of Wed-Thurs in 2017 is Dilemma, with a Korean title that is an idiom that means going forward or heading back are both difficult, i.e. forward or back is impossible. All we know now is that the PD Lee Kwang Young of Entertainer who also worked as assistant director on dramas like Heirs, Fashion King and OB/GYN.
Hopefully this drama will have more interesting leads than model turned actor Lee Ddoochi and acting idol Suzie
Why can’t they try a different genre? What is happening at SBS?
Okay am I the only sick and tired of legal and medical dramas, we get six to seven of them each year…. The only only medical drama I enjoy after emergency couple and good doctor is live up to your name and I haven’t seen a legal drama that can rival I hear your voice.
You’re def not the only one. It seems like SBS is trying really hard to be safe as these dramas bring them higher ratings on average than rom-coms. I wonder if MBC or KBS will still be producing dramas :/ Hopefully tvN, OCN and JTBC offers more diverse genres.
I love legal drama actually but its true SBS has gone overboard with it this year.
Entertainer, Heirs and Fashion King were all bad dramas. Seems like I’ll pass on this one.
It’s amazing how someone can produce so messy dramas or be in part of three of the most pointless dramas out there.
