Kim Sae Ron’s Blood Test Results for Drunk Driving Incident Reportedly at a Level that Would Get Her License Revoked

It’s like the facts around Kim Sae Ron‘s drunk driving case from two weeks ago can’t get worse and then it gets worse. K-ent is reporting that the results of her blood test, taken at the hospital as she requested it rather than a breathalyzer test taken on site, is at a level that would get her license revoke. This means it quite high versus just over the limit considered as driving while drunk. This is definitely another nail in her acting career coffin, and such a shame all around. To be that drunk at 8 am is already something K-netizens would tsk tsk about but it’s not breaking any laws other than probably societal mores about not being wasted first thing in the morning. It’s the decision to get behind the wheel and drive that is all sorts of illegal and morally irresponsible. Overall I see her laying low for quite some time and if she does return it will be in streaming dramas or smaller roles in movies so she doesn’t have too much scrutiny on her.

  2. I don’t get the cancel culture in Korea, really don’t. I know what she did is wrong, very wrong but still ending her career for this? A lot of people will do this in this part of the world and still have a career…. it’s a shame.

    P.S: Am not her fan

    • Knetz have done some crazy witch hunts over the flimsiest reasons in the past (Kim Yoojung’s standing controversy comes to mind). But this isn’t one of them. She literally committed a crime that could’ve ended up with someone dead. She was very lucky that didn’t happen. IMO DUI should be treated more seriously everywhere.

As Koala said, she can still come back eventually. Seo Yeji was able to land a lead role a year after her gaslighting controversy. It depends on how her agency will handle her career moving forward. A hiatus of one year or so is a given. On the legal front, she’ll prolly get slapped with a fine since this is her first offense.

    • (speaking as a non fan AND non drinker) It’s also quite ironic how Korea has such a vibrant and almost invasive drinking culture, even talking about the act of drinking as some sort of peak cultural and bonding phenomenom, but then when these things happen they all act shocked and escandalized lol Well you glorify being drunk every day after work, this is what happens??? They need to have a real conversation about their drinking issues instead of going wild when a celeb drinks and drives, cancelling them, and then drinking 3 bottles of soju

    • Hope she learns from this. It is much easier to call a taxi next time. In terms of career, it refers to the acting industry which depends if she still has a market for audience. Will you spend money watching her movie? Investors have to really think if it will be money wasted by casting her. All her onscreen jobs have been stopped now. Maybe she can try some backstage work? or go back to school for a while?

  3. The other passenger is just as culpable for allowing her to drive while drunk…or they were probably both drunk. Serves her right to get her license revoked before she kills someone or herself from drunk driving. I don’t care if she’s canceled or not but she better learn her lesson from this.

  4. People make mistakes and that is very terrifying that people can’t learn from their mistakes and make amends. Celebrity are humans too. We can’t expect them to be angels.

Maybe it’s not a bad thing for her to be away from the spotlight. Living a normal may be better for her since she has been in the spotlight since she was little.

  5. She put others live to danger. She is rightfully cancelled. If u have some pain or depression, u dont get rights to put others lives in danger by drinking and drive.

  6. She’s young. Hate the crime, not the perpetrator. May she learn from it and be a better person. We are all in this world to learn lessons. Everyone makes mistakes, so we shouldn’t condemn others.

    • She is young but definitely not a kid who does not know that she should not DUI. And DUI is not a mistake but a crime by choice where she could have easily killed someone. She is lucky that nobody was hurt. She definitely needs to reflect and make sure she does not do this next time. As for her career, I am sure she will stay out of limelight for some months and will comeback after everybody forget about this.

      • Chill. Adults also makes mistakes, not just a kid. Even if one knows it’s wrong, they still foolishly do it. Like those who seek prostitute, steals/pickpocket, or even having extramarital affair when not supposed to. Some ppl just need to hit the wall and face consequences of their actions only then will they wake up and change their ways.. I dislike DUI as well, and always makes sure if anyone I know is driving, they should not drink in my presence. But not everyone thinks the same.. and some foolishly believes they are not drunk even if they are, or that a short drive is ok and will not cause any problems.. it’s just foolishness, and yes, lives are at risk. Lucky for her, no lives are lost. She just need to realize her errors and do not repeat it. So don’t need to condemn her so much. Just give her room for regrets and repent. Even if we don’t say anything, I’m sure she already regreted her actions.

  7. She’s a danger to society and should rightfully have her license revoked permanently. Because she might actually cause human casualties next time.
