The postponement of Yang Mi‘s drama She and Her Perfect Husband with Xu Kai may end up being great for her, as that drama is just a fluffy rom-com but now she gets to come back with the serious medical drama Thank You Doctor which is getting her rave reviews. The drama premiered this weekend and a 5-episode first day drop and the initial reviews are all praising Yang Mi for her acting and dialogue reading, good enunciation and confidence with medical jargon playing a doctor. The drama costars Bai Yu and seems like a C-version of the US medical shows like Grey’s Anatomy or ER, which K-dramas have been doing regularly for years but I can see C-ent also producing medical dramas on the regular.

Sorry, she is a hard watch. Dead eye, same expression no matter the role/situation, which is no expression. She should watch herself act and try to improve. I avoid her dramas because it bothers me so much just watching her.

The plastic on her chin and bottom lip ruined her face. It looks like she is constantly swallowing her own lip. Now that she is “a brand” she doesn’t make any more effort as an actress. She knows she will keep getting roles no matter what.

Yup. She used to be better but even netizens have noticed she has been seriously deteriorating. I really don’t see any rave reviews for this thing, apart from her stans. Most doubaners dislike it, including her (bad) acting in it.

Thanks koala, i plan to watch it bcuz of bai yu. Yangmi isnt my fave actress, but i dont dislike her. It’s just her expression is so limited… but as long as the story is good, will watch it.
I dont have many C dramas to watch… just going to finish Strange legend of Tang and unexpected falling… hopefully this one will be good.
Try One and Only, and it’s sequel Forever and Ever. Best Ren Jia Lun and Bai Lu works. Both have all the feels.
