Police Confirm that Yoo Ah In Has Also Tested Positive for Propofol in the Investigation Drug Testing

I think the situation getting more serious for K-actor Yoo Ah In is hopefully what can get him help for the long run, because propofol abuse is a really serious medical misconduct. His marijuana use is just a side issue and he can pay a fine in South Korea and the local netizens can cancel him but in many other countries that drug is legal. But propofol is not legal to just inject in any country other than as prescribed by a medical professional as part of a medical procedure. The testing to detect propofol in the blood stream is 15 hours post-anesthesia but the metabolite of propofol can be detected in blood and urine for 60 hours so nearly 3 days. The police have confirmed today that Yoo Ah In tested positive for propofol as well during the drug test which means he used recently right before he was summoned for investigation.

  1. All of this is just terrible. On the one hand I think it’s bad and stupid he took drugs but on the other hand I feel for him since he felt the need to take harsh drugs like propofol instead of getting help. Not making any excuses but I also don’t want to hate on him or anyone who is drug addicted and in need for help.

I remember back then when actors like Joo Ji Hoon were banned from broadcast stations if I remember it correctly for their drug abuse. It stalled his career for years.

And then there was Park Si Yeon who also abused propofol and til this day has legal issues which are doing nothing good to her career.

  2. They found a third substance besides marijuana and propofol. Guy is clearly a drug addict and going to spend some time in jail. They don’t take substance abuse lightly in South Korea.

  3. Korean entertainment that we thought perfect two decades ago is showing that it’s the same as in other countries . I’m sad to say that all the “scandals” don’t surprise me anymore . It’s like reading an european or american tabloid . Different cultures but same humans all over the world .

      • I meant normal ppl do drugs too let alone celebrities lol. Weed is some crazy drug in Korea but in the US, people smoke it regularly and it’s normalized like alcohol and cigarettes

  4. This guy is a messed! Life is about decision that you make. Famous quote that “Every action has a consequence” and there it is! On positive side, a good thing that authority caught him otherwise he can be died from overdose.

  5. It’s bad for him, indeed. His bad decision (to use these drugs) are here to haunt him now. But…. I am sad for him, and I wish for him to handle this the safest way he can, and be well. I remember watching a show where he showed his house. In that show he said he lives alone, has been for a very long time and is always by himself, sometimes walks at nights in the neighborhood with his dog, but always by himself. For many it may be okay, but for some it can be terribly sad. I’m not saying it’s the reason, but we don’t know. So I’m sending him a sincere wish to be well and be strong so he doesn’t make the same mistakes again.

  6. I will always support him as an actor/artist. I don’t really care what anyone thinks of me with this statement. He’s broken the law in his country and will be punished, but he hasn’t harmed/cheated anyone physically or mentally. He’s only done it to himself. Honestly, not surprised by this conviction because YAI’s always been a rebel in the industry. May he get the help he needs.

  7. His behavior does seem erratic. I thought he was maybe bipolar, not a drug addict, or maybe the 2 conditions are related when it comes to him. I hope he gets the help that he needs. He is a talented actor, so just like Robert Downey Jr, I hope he sorts out his life and return to the entertainment industry
