C-actor Zhang Wan Yi had a banner year thanks to Lost You Forever elevating him to great reception but he was already on the up and up and has two period dramas forthcoming. One is with Ren Min called The Rise of Ning that finished filming awhile ago and the other is called Liu Zhou Ji (also known as Hidden Charm) and costars Wang Chu Ran. Which means his next two drama female leads were both in The Longest Promise haha. Liu Zhou Ji just wrapped filming and the production released a making of sneak peak trailer that makes me want to watch this drama, it’s like a slow burn first marriage then love story. The only hhhmmm vibe is once again Wang Chu Ran gives off strong mature woman aura and I don’t know how her onscreen presence will look opposite Zhang Wan Yi.

Thanks Koala for sharing, I’m also looking forward to this drama but I must say it is not as impressive as The Prisoner of Beauty or as epic in cinematography. Zhang Wan Yi is better in costume to me, looks more regal and commanding in presence. Although I like ‘I Love You’ with Sun Yi currently airing. He looks very young even if he is almost 30. Let’s see his chemistry with Wang Chu Ran.
Stills look pretty good, hoping this will turn out well. Had a look on douban and most comments were positive about Zhang Wanyi as Cui Xingzhou, but not as favourable towards Wang Churan as Liu Miantang. Trailer does look interesting though.
Wang Chu Ran better blow it out of the water on this one, otherwise she will be relegated to the B list.
I like Zhang wan yi but I don’t like the female lead. Hope she doesn’t ruin this drama
