First Stills of Kim Soo Hyun and Kim Ji Won in Star Studded K-drama Queen of Tears

This is one of the most high profile K-dramas of 2024 and has a confirmed March airing date on tvN so I am not surprised to see the promos starting. A first still has been released of leads Kim Soo Hyun and Kim Ji Won in the drama Queen of Tears penned by writer Park Ji Eun as her first project since her international mega hit Crash Landing on You. It also reunites her with Kim Soo Hyun who shot to stratospheric stardom thanks to her You From Another Star. It’s set in the world of chaebol power and politics in the world of a department store, and the drama has a huge cast of familiar and famous supporting and veteran stars joining the mix. For a drama called the Queen of Tears which I’m guessing refers to Kim Ji Won’s character, she sure looks happy and content nestled in the arms of her hubby Kim Soo Hyun lol.

First Stills of Kim Soo Hyun and Kim Ji Won in Star Studded K-drama Queen of Tears — 19 Comments

  1. Kim Ji won looks so pretty in that 2nd slide. Aww these two look like a proper hubby and wife in that stills. Just the fact that these two are married in the drama is making me so excited and am very curious. Please give me all the angst, I am ready. 🤭 I wonder what role is KDY playing. Also, he is reunitung with both the leads after fight my way and IOTBNO.

  2. Aside from Good Boy, this is another drama I’m super excited about! It’s looking so good already just from the still pictures! Kim Ji Won is gorgeous, will always support her and it’s also a huge plus that this drama has Kim Soo Hyun, Park Sung Hoon, and Kwak Dong Yeon as well!

  3. Can’t wait! It’s taken ages to film atleast they’re starting early on the promo. This drama is gonna be an acting and visuals feast, there’s literally no weak actor in this. I’m less excited about a possible love triangle with park sunghoons character.

  4. Ok, I withdrew my prior comment that I was kinda fed up with stories around chaebol. I’ll definitely watch any drama of KSH even it’s a chaebol cliche. LOL. KSH looks so dang fine! I’ve not watched him for a long while. It’s legit for me to be excited about this drama given the ML and the writer.

    • It’s rare to see both couples being chaebol I’m tired of the rich chaebol ml and the poor overworked fl. Both KSH and kjw have played poor characters so it’s refreshing to see them finally play rich characters lol.

      • I thibk both have played rich characters in past. Kjw in Heirs and Ksh in you who came from star.

      • @Jammy, KSH in You Who Came from Star wasn’t really a rich figure but a super being more precisely. This one drama is a 100% chaebol. I hope they stay away from Makjang and will be more creative. LOL

      • KSH’s character isn’t originally a chaebol. He comes from a small town but was able to get his law degree from a prestigious uni then marries into the chaebol family he works for.

  5. Dang it already looks like they have chemistry (both always does with their costars so not sure why I was slightly iffy about them together). Love their styling as well!

I’m seriously so excited for this. Easily my most awaited for the year amongst several A-lister comebacks in dramaland. The writer is LOVE and this cast is absolutely lit. March can’t come sooner!

  6. I’ll be tuning in for Kim Soo Hyun! He was already a great actor, but his acting went up another level after his military discharge. Loved IOTNBO and One Ordinary Day.

  7. I just cannot get into this writer’s works. Very cliche scripts. She is also accused multiple times for plagiarism. I’m sure this will still be successful because viewers don’t seem to care about that.
