There are so many addicted Queen of Hearts stans lol and tvN is going keep being good to us. Last week the network announced two special episodes airing the weekend after the finale, it will likely consist of unaired scenes, interviews, and BTS if the rumors are correct. This week the network further announced that male lead Kim Soo Hyun will be singing an OST song, his first in exactly ten years when he sang an OST for You From Another Star. Kim Soo Hyun’s breakout was in Dream High where he not only sang but also danced lol, and I watched DH live and called it early on that Superstar K was totally his Song Sam Dong, still one of my fave high school male characters of all time. This is totally feeding my QoT loving soul so thank you tvN!

It’s so sad to see them go as the drama is coming to an end. I’ll skip the special as watching the BTS loses the magic of the story for me. I hope it will be a happy ending (you’ll never know, after watching so many heartbreaking dramas most esp from China). I must say one cannot do without the other. While KSH is the (far) bigger star if it were not for KJW effectively portraying Haein there would be no QOT and vice-versa with KSH as Hyunwoo. They both made it work so beautifully to the delight of fans. I can’t imagine any other actress portraying Haein. But if you guys can think of any, do chime in.

I’m tired. Both this comment and OP’s last sentence are pure baiting at this point. As ppl have said in other discussions, the ones who try these tactics are obviously jealous stans of other actors (there’s one in particular, but let’s not name names) who are uplifting KJW to the heavens just to belittle KSH. As least be honest about it and stop using the poor woman (and inviting hate on her) to fight your battles. I made the mistake of falling into a similar “no one could do it like KJW” bait once and now I’m beyond tired of this cheap, manufactured drama. She is fantastic, he is fantastic. If no else could play Hae-in, certainly no one else could play Hyun-woo (again, I’m tired of haters pretending that BHW is some easy character; this is probably one of the most complex characters on k-screen in the past few yrs). That’s the end of the discussion. Stop already!!
Someone else “can” play Hong Haein and someone else “can” play Baek Hyunwoo in the sense that you can put other actors in the costumes and have them say the lines.
It’s just not going to be anywhere near as good as the Baek Hyunwoo and Hong Haein (separately and as a couple) played by the two Kims. Not in terms of either the acting, or the chemistry.
Definitely looking forward for this. I saw a video on X, he sang Hotel Del Luna OST and other 3 songs (if not mistaken) at his fanmeet in Japan, oh wow!, he still has the skill. His vocal has always been good anyway.
The first drama I watched KSH in was Dream High. I was team Jin Gook, until I wasn’t lol. Sam Dong stole my heart without me realizing, but yes, I also knew for sure he’d be K after the hearing situation was revealed. It just made for a pretty epic storyline. Getting the girl was a whole different ballgame. A drama that managed the who-will-FL-choose game without ever frustrating the viewers. Still the best youth drama I’ve ever seen!
Anyway, KSH has been second to none minus IU in DH when it came to vocals. He has such a good voice for someone who hardly records songs. I’m so excited for this OST. What a great year for KSH fans overall already.
I haven’t followed KSH’s career too closely. Was mostly just a casual fan. I have obviously watched all his dramas since how can you miss dramas that popular. But totally forgot how great his voice is. Because of QoT I can call myself a huge huge KSH fan now. So I looked at all his singing vids in fan-meets and other OSTs. He has it all, the acting skills, the visuals and the voice too. I’m so excited for his new song. Surely a ballad and I loveeee ballads
As for the 2 extra episodes, I heard the 5 leads won’t be shooting them together due to schedule conflicts which tbh I am glad about. I want to see more content on their feelings about the drama/their careers/goals instead of content pertaining to ‘clues’ on what they may be hiding. *EYE ROLL* the RL shipping is absolute BS. It’s so tiring and happens with every single popular couple. It’s disgusting and makes me so angry on behalf of the actors who are doing their JOBS. Their instagrams are flooded with shippers who are spamming photos of each other because oppa/unnie please date. Urghhhhhhhhhhhh
On the other hand, I would love love love to see more of the boys interact. As in KSH, KDY and PSH. In every BTS I’ve seen them together in, they always look like they have such a blast together. Lots of loud voices, belly laughing shenanigans, and just genuine bromance. They are really funny together haha. At least there are no delulus spamming their obsession all over

real life shipping is so weird to me (kdrama or kpop fandoms are not the only ones who do it, western actor/music fans are equally bad or worse). I mean….these are real people, not fictional characters. Are shippers that bad at telling the difference between real life and a made-up story??
I can even tolerate shipping if people acknowledge that they are being delusional and do their shipping quietly on some obscure page the actors will never see, but this bunch of shippers are so shamelessly in-your-face on official accounts that I assume they are either 12 years old or not right in the head.
I also love the bromance of the QoT boys! They are so chaotic together in the best of ways
I have almost given up hope for Kim Soo Hyun to sing an OST since he didn’t for his last few dramas. He is giving his all in QoT and it’s been such a treat to watch him act and now sing again. I’m really going to miss the show when it ends.
I think he must have been overwhelmed by the reception of QoT. I suppose they weren’t expecting it to be this big and viral. I wonder why they didn’t do a duet with him and KJW since she also sings well. That would have been swell.
I guess KSH only sings an OST if his fans really clamour for it since it always gets a very late release. Both Moon and Star OSTs sung by him were towards the end of the drama. Prod was too short to get to that stage. It’s okay maybe didnt have such a rabid and demanding fandom in Korea? Haha. Just my guess, but for Tears everyone and their mothers, grandmothers, aunts and distant relatives were sincerely pleading for it 😂
This OST feels like it was manifested by the very large Baek Hyunwoo voice fandom. His ottoke in the prerelease also has a fandom of its own now😂

And also the most fascinating thing about Hyunwoo is how he makes the most ordinary words sound like a whole love letter. Haein-ah, Anseulke, Jal Jinae, Ottoke, Saranghae are all just 3 letter words but with KSH, it’s a whole Hamlet monologue 😂
Im embarrassed to say : I watched the ottokke perhaps like 20 times. It’s sexy seriously, his voice ohhh his entire being is an acting machine, the body language, the eyes, now the voice – gosh what’s next, his hair?
KSH is the epitome of being who’s truly blessed with many talents. I wish he would been more active in music so we can see him more often. It’s so rare to see him in dramas that I’m missing him already. I wish he would grace the screen with more when he was younger.
Agree with you, but read somewhere that he was attached to QoT for 2 years while they were scouting for the right actress to play. So this could have been earlier, and I suppose Covid plays a part.

2019: discharged from Military
2020: It’s okay
2021: One Day
2022: signed to do Tears and supposed to have started shooting
2023: actual shooting due to delay
So if not for the change in PD and actress, he would have not been gone for too long. Plus he is also considering a new drama already. He even joined bubble recently and has been winning everyones heart. I think hes gonna be a lot more active that most are used to. Great news for everyone!
He really has it all. I thk QoT has turned out bigger than they all expected. Doing the ost is like giving back to those who enjoyed QoT and those who love KSH. Im looking forward tk what KSH will do following this project. He’s the epitome of quality over quantity. Good for him.

I hope the special episodes give us all the deleted scenes, even if the drama is ultimately better without them I still want to see all BaekHong scenes that didn’t air lol even if they’re the fighting/crying scenes. And yes please to cast interviews! Even if all five can’t get together in the same place it would be nice to have them give interviews in twos or threes.
and wow it’s been ten years since KSH last did an OST? Nice that this is the drama that brings it back. It would have been nice if they had Kim Jiwon do one too, she was also trained as a singer before her debut but one out of two HongBaek couple serenading the viewers is fine!

I dont wanna jinx it but comments section is so pleasant rn lmao. Before the inevitable happens and crazies make their presence felt I gotta chime in, then dip. To me it never felt like KSH ever left the TOP spot despite long absences. He was always the guy to beat and still is. So results of this drama while astounding – in today’s OTT world anyway – somehow also feels expected. Happy to see him giving back to his fans via bubble and now an OST. They seem all thrilled based on how my tl exploded. I hope tvN releases more info on the specials. Current info is too vague.
I’m enjoying this drama and I will miss it so badly when it ends but before going, I want to say I’m starting to have a problem with Netflix’s English subtitles for Queen of Tears, there are now multiple instances – which others have pointed out – where the English subtitles don’t match the Korean dialogue spoken by the actors or even make up their own meaning.
Like translating Haein’s dialogue in episode 2 as she “broke up” with the 2nd ML (implying they dated or were involved) when it’s now clear there was never that kind of relationship between them, or translating her mother as calling her bro’s baby “that thing” when she’s telling off the scammer sister in law in ep 12 (what she really says is “take that child with you and go”). I understand if dialogue can’t be translated literally but at least try to convey the correct meaning instead of creating a whole different narrative and tone for the story! It’s not even like Queen of Tears is being live shot and subtitles have to be done at the last minute, what kind of nonsense is this from Netflix?
