Love in Pavilion with Liu Shi Shi and Zhang Yun Long Changes its Title to Remove the Fox Spirit Matchmaker Portion

There is no clearer way to indicate that the first drama in a trilogy was a flop than the second chapter changing its name to get as far away from it as possible. With that said, all three chapters of the Fox Spirit Matchmaker stories same a common world building and mythology so I’m not sure how this will work out. Red Moon Pact with Yang Mi and Gong Jun came out this past May to underwhelming reviews and reception and reportedly delayed the release of the next chapter Love in Pavilion. Now that drama starring Liu Shi Shi and Zhang Yun Long has changed its Chinese title completely to just 淮水竹亭 Huai Shui Zhu Ting which is a mashup of the female lead’s name Dong Fang Huai Zhu and the original title which called it the 竹业篇 Zhu Ye chapter and the Ting for pavilion. No confirmed word yet on airing date but at this late juncture it’s for sure in 2025.

  1. The first one was so bad, but I’m still looking forward to this one. Guess will see how it does. Hopefully, the romance for the leads will be more central and developed.

  2. The reason the first one didn’t do so well was because the plot and writing was so bad. No amount of good acting could have saved it. I lowkey felt bad for Yang Mi because she deserved better. Hopefully, this one had a better writer.

      • Why does it need so many writers???? Too many cooks in the kitchen doesn’t bode well. But I’m still looking forward to watching.

    • Really! Liu Shishi don’t have history of being difficult. Zhang Yunlong, I watched a variety show where I found him annoying… I wonder if there is truth in this rumours… we will see how their chemistry will show in the drama. I hope it will not affect the show. I like Liu Shishi…
