Shin Mina and Lee Jong Seok Offered Lead Roles in K-drama Adaptation of Period Webtoon Remarried Empress — 11 Comments

  1. Hmm seems like solid pairing although I don’t fare well with those trash husband kind of story, probably not going to watch this

  2. It would be funny if the actor who played the despicable ex of Shin Min-ah’s character in “No Gain No Love” is cast as Soviesch (the Emperor) 😂 I mean the plot setting of “No Gain No Love” is more or less similar to “Remarried Empress”.

But the question is: would Lee Jongseok play a male protagonist whose major personality trait is to be simply devoted to the female protagonist? He has played romantic male leads but they did have their own agenda and objectives, unlike Heinrey who turned his kingdom into an empire for Navier (since she was an empress consort in her previous marriage, he would make her one as his wife).

    • It does seem like an odd character for LJS as he always plays the one top lead type roles. Maybe they will re-write to make his character more independent beyond the female lead. From that description it sounds like the male character who would be the more fun to play would be the slimy first husband. Sort of like how Shin Sung Rok stole the show in The Last Empress from the straight man lead, Choi Jin Hyuk

    • Lee Jongsoek already did play a ML who is all the way through nothing but devoted to the FL, and it’s actually my favourite role for him: Romance is a Bonus Book. Such a great character – in a very underestimated drama. I actually should watch it again.

  3. Ah yes, the great webtoon where the poor nobles are the epitome of good who have to suffer because of the evil bad slave girl.

It’s hard for me to believe that something like this actually still finds an audience these days….
