Young C-actor Li Ming De’s Latest Scandal Adds More Concerns Over the Ability to Air Two Anticipated C-dramas Legend of the Female General and Moonlit Reunion
Gosh I just want to slap this kid upside the head for his serious of shenanigans in the last two months. C-actor Li Ming De this week has reportedly been detained by police after being investigated for drunkenly getting violent and vandalizing a car. This is on top of early January when he caused an industry stir by alleging a serious of problems on the casting and behavior on set of a new drama he was filming and leading the production to hit back that HE was the problem. I am highly highly anticipating period C-drama Legend of the Female General with Zhou Ye and Cheng Lei which had been slated to air at the end of January but nothing happening likely due to industry concerns with Li Ming De. Now he’s been actually detained by cops who knows if this drama can air *cries* and it’s also going to impact another drama I am looking forward to Moonlit Reunion with Xu Kai and Tian Xi Wei. Li Ming De is a supporting role in both dramas and cutting his role will absolutely impact the plot and doing AI face swap is too expense and time consuming as well. Sigh.
Always knew he was trouble. These young actors are such liabilities.
Can’t they just delete or AI him, he’s only bit part actor I’m sure he’s not in many scenes.
So stressful for everyone else involved in those dramas who worked hard and aren’t going around being assholes. They should be including face-swamp penalties to the contracts – here is the estimate cost for face-swapping you if you break the law. And if we have to face-swap you to get the drama to air, you will have to pay up that amount.
I hate kid who doesnt know his place. He got tantrums for everything. Im waiting for LOTFG and this news, ught… Hopefully, they replaced him with AI. But it’ll cost the production more. Suing him!!!! So unprofessional. He probably has his own problems but dont ruin other’s works.
Times like these you kind of wish they just air it anyways and just cancel him hence forth. Since he is not main and side character. Hopefully it gets resolved and we don’t miss out on said projects. Or penalize them and punish them idk.
Cdramas really need to figure this stuff out or have preventive measures because it just has been happening too frequently. Like how they have under studies for theater roles. 
I hate him instantly. Lol. So much is going wrong in my life, I just want to try some new C-dramas! (I’m actually dealing with an alcoholic father, so I empathize with him and hope he gets help if it’s that serious.) Please release it though!!!
Aw he was also a major supporting actor in Xiao Zhan’s xianxia, The Longest Promise. Luckily TLP had premiered long before. Besides, his role in TLP was a big fairy bird that was CGI-ed most of the time anyway LOL. It wouldn’t have been that hard to swap him over in TLP. I kinda felt that he didn’t appear to be a dedicated actor back then. The big bird character is way more lively in the book than in the drama. I guess his laid-back acting style made it so. Therefore, not that surprising to me that he’s got trouble off screen.
That said, does each actor have to be a perfect saint in order to show their face on screen? He isn’t a lead actor that usually gives delusional fans visual fantasy. Why canceling his face on screen though? LOL.
Wasn’t there some controversy with some supporting actor in My Journey to You as well before it aired, yet it was able to air without editing him out? I don’t know how big LMD’s role here is compared to that other actor. Hopefully they can air because I really want to watch LOTFG!
I was looking forward to Moonlit Reunion too. Hopefully drama production teams include a penalty clause in the contracts. Actually imo, existing dramas should be allowed to air, just ban the dramas who still continue using those actors after their crimes were confirmed.
