Yu Shu Xin Pairs Up with Rising Actor Chen Jing Ke for Modern Romance Drama Adapted From Novel Road to Success
C-actress Yu Shu Xin is rolling off a recently aired C-drama and wrapping a just finished one into a new one that starts filming this month in April. She certainly has her schedule very solidly mapped out. Her most recent modern romance Ski Into Love with Lin Yi is considered a smallish flop, nothing to negatively impact her but coming off the surprise success of Love Game in Eastern Fantasy this continues her one hit followed by one not hit streak. She’s signed on for another modern drama this one titled in Chinese 灿如繁星 (translated Bright as Stars) which is adapted from the novel Road to Success (狭路 or Look on the Narrow Path) from writer Chang Er. Her male lead is rising actor Chen Jing Ke, who I remember playing Wu Lei’s older disciple brother in Amidst a Snowstorm of Love. He has the height, looks, and acting ability and best yet isn’t one of those trendy dudes who coast on buzz. I like the casting and will keep an eye out for this one.
He is handsome and an okay actor.
I quite enjoyed Ski Into Love, it was nothing earth shattering, but a nice little romcom.
Ski Into Love suffered from youku’s episode cut from 36 to 23. The novel was really good, but too bad youku did bad to another ysx drama. Hopefully Road to Success gets picked up by tencent, not by youku.
Road to Success is an Iqiyi drama and it starts filming from the 15th April. It sounds very different from anything she’s done before. Let’s see how it pans out but it looks like a good challenge for her.
Same, it pissed me off badly that it should have get 32 episode for this drama,shoot 36 just extra with 5 months of filming,so that they can have atleast 32,even they promoted it since last december everyone thought it will air in February but youku did dirty,they licensed it only 23 episode, at the same month the first frost which is also a modern drama got 32 episode licensed,they put The first frost drama with 32 episode which should have been to ski into love and promoted that drama heavily .Ski into love was such a good romcom but they rushed the plot cause of cut episode,i will never forgive them for this, the female director for this drama is pretty good,the crew good too so i hope she will have a good filming experience and without any mishap under iqiyi,Get good success with this drama
Ski into love wss good romcom it wasnt a flop at all,it good 500 million virws in 10 days which very hard for a small platform like youku, also they only got 23 episode which made it hard to get 10k index but it got 9700 on the 11th day, even her character wei zhi second place on all data in weibo,douyin everywhere, her and linyi dance also get viral same with her all their promotional videos,it was a small ip drama but the cut episode to 36 to 23 affected this drama otherwise it would have been a big hit drama, it has the sports theme which very suitable for chinese Olympic time so it became really popular with chinese netizen
