C-actress Song Zu Er Reportedly Gets Offer for New Period C-drama Biao Me Wan Fu on Heels of Successful Return with The Demon Hunter’s Romance and The Prisoner of Beauty
This period C-drama has been casting around for the past year and earlier this year was nearly ready to start filming with leads in place. Then nothing happened and now is back in the casting news cycle with word that it will star Song Zu Er as her first post-return casting. The drama is titled Biao Mei Wan Fu (表妹万福) and is adapted from the same name novel and will air on Tencent. The male lead in talks may be Chen Xin Hai but could also end up with either Zhou Yi Ran or Xin Yun Lai. I don’t think production teams are scrambling to cast Song Zu Er nor are they terribly afraid to do so either, but if she does sign on to whatever is her first drama to film after her return and all goes well then I think the flood gates will open in terms of scripts coming her way.
I thought the netizens have problems with xin yun Lai’s looks in The Glory. But frankly, he is better looking than Wang Zi Qi in The Serendipity.

I am curious what quality of scripts she will get? Her comeback is looking good.
I think Chen xin hai seems the better option in terms of acting. So far I have not been disappointed in his acting. The other two are good looking but acting wise meh. But who is to say this is true or not. Seems more speculation than definite.
Xin Yun Lai’s acting is ok but I do have trouble rooting for him as a ML thanks to his unflattering visuals in costume. But I think he’s better ML material than Liu Yuning. I have watched LYN’s three dramas as ML, A Journey to Love, The Story of Pearl Girl, and now The Prisoner of Beauty. I only got to finish AJtL thanks to LSS and the fun supporting cast. As to the other two, I dropped the dramas all thanks to his lack of appeal as supposedly very charismatic heroes.
If they cast a decent ML who doesn’t have to be very attractive, I’ll watch this drama for SZE’s sake.
LYN is not ML material. I have never watched any of his dramas.
