Caesar Wu and Yue Yu Ting Start Filming Yield to You the Mini Drama Version of The Prisoner of Beauty
Well this mini drama version of The Prisoner of Beauty is certainly going for spicy all out, at least for the female lead lol. Filming has started for Yield to You starring Caesar Wu and Yue Yu Ting, and he’s got the general look down but she’s straight up rocking a courtesan look rather than the sheltered noble daughter raised in an uptight family. A bit of verisimilitude to the novel would be nice rather than having her look like every other mini drama female lead who is almost always sultry to the hilt. With that said, I am totally going to watch this haha, I mean it’s basically taking the romance novel aspect of the novel and just focusing only on that.
Yikes those dresses just aren’t it… I hope this does well anyways. I feel a little sad that Caesar Wu’s career trajectory has been sort of downhill.
I have a different opinion. He has been given alot of opportunity for a male actor. He had a number of good years and earn his money. This industry is shortlife for some but not all, one cannot be lifelong idols but they can be lifelong actors. I dont feel sorry for him as I am happy he is able to adapt and still continue doing what he likes.
I do watch most of his dramas, he is not as good as some but better then others. But I do have soft spot for him.
That’s a really good point. I think about that sometimes too when I see lead actors or actresses who don’t seem like they can do lead roles after they get older (due to not enough talent or popularity), but could see as strong supporting actors and hope that they could adapt and be lifelong actors that I can continue to watch.
I would like to watch afew of them grow and take on different roles without idol baggages. This industry is not short of actors/actress but only few gets somewhere.
Vertical dramas are the thing right now. I don’t even watch any long dramas from the big platforms now.

It is true…shorter attention span, many are enjoying these short dramas on mobile. It is a big market.
Same! I enjoy them too, but then I don’t want to support the platforms for these vertical dramas because they make it too expensive for subscription.
The long drama industry is in a major crisis. There is nothing wrong with switching to short dramas that are successful. Better to be realistic, continue working and earning money.
