Zhang Ling He and Wang Chu Ran Ignite Onscreen Love-Hate Sparks in First Teaser Trailer for Republic Era C-drama Overdo
This drama likely won’t air until 2026, and hopefully earlier in the year because I am so excited for it! C-drama Overdo with Zhang Ling He and Wang Chu Ran released a first short teaser trailer recently and it drops the viewers into a tight maelstrom of action. The trailer has no dialogue and is just a fast-paced vignette of scenes showing the leads in various love-hate moments. They clearly are former lovers torn apart and reunited later in a different situation where she’s going to marry his brother (I think) and it’s all so fated and dysfunctional in the best drama way. It doesn’t hurt both leads are sooooooo gorgeous, they are visually slaying in this period era looks.

Not a fan of this era’s dramas…but I have enjoyed a few of Zhang Linghe’s drama…will watch and see.
Two of the best looking actors on the scene right now. If nothing else, it’ll be a feast for the eyes. I’m also a sucker for an angsty mess so I’m excited for it.

In terms of the drama, hope the script written decently. Wonder if they would follow the end of the novel or provide a happy ending. As for publicity, it’s really benefitting from the both Chu Ran and Ling He being such a visual pair. They’re getting huge amounts of views in social media.
To be honest even if the story is nothing special or new, I will still be watching for the visual of both leads, they are so gorgeous that it’ll be worth it lmao.
They are very pretty people. Chemistry seems non existent.
Some of the clothes I saw was so cringe that I laughed out loud for real and some was great.

I’m just curious why almost every republican era drama has the same scenario of warlord with sappy female lead if not this usually crime mystery and revenge. Whether normal episodes or short dramas they are nearly the same. Also almost always is tragic at the end or a good number of people have done died out like a Hamlet play. I hope this drama atleast executes a decent ending. Atleast The costumes are usually nice visually and the leads are almost always flawless. I hope it works out for them.
Im not fan of this era yet after seeing so many gorgeous outfits for leads from filming set… I will be there for the looks xD
