iQiyi Moving Forward with Episodic Female Revenge C-drama Wan Hua Sin Starring Ju Jing Yi with Up-and-comers Chen He Yi, Lai Wei Ming, and Xu Zhen Xuan as Male Leads
This project has been in development for so long that even with C-actress Ju Jing Yi attached as the female lead for the last year I didn’t think it would ever head into production. Revenge C-drama Wan Hua Sin (万花世界 Wan Hua Shi Jie) was first announced as a big project for top actress Dilraba Dilmurat playing the female lead going through space/time/worlds to enact vengeance on shitty men (i.e. cheaters and abusers and the like). It’s basically a cosplay of the female avenger with multiple stories and arcs. Then the problem came with being unable to get big name established male drama actors do take on the roles of love assholes onscreen, and then Dilraba dipped. Last year the project went to Ju Jing Yi and then a bunch of potential male actor names were floated and non came to fruition. But this week word in production circles is that iQiyi is ready to start production as the male leads are set with three up-and-comers the production team wants to promote and elevate – Chen He Yi, Lai Wei Ming, and Xu Zhen Xuan. All three are indeed rising and have all played good looking shitty mean onscreen before lol so this is like perfect.
Sometimes this needs to be common. Re using same main lead actors gets tired and does not ever garner success. Then again maybe the production might not be so great and that’s why many turned away. But I like that they went this route. We need more variety in leads. I hope it works out.
Well it will flop so who cares.
Short dramas are really influencing long dramas recently with all of that surge in female centric revenge dramas
All the three men are gorgeous and have acted decent especially Chen He Yi in Princess Royal and Fated Hearts. Lai Wei Ming is gonna go big. His visual is strong.
