Lee Jong Seok in Talks for Investigative Thriller K-drama Paradise Reuniting with PD From Big Mouth and While You Were Sleeping
K-actor Lee Jong Seok is one of the more versatile stars of his generation of male leads in terms of genre hopping. Up next he has the live action K-drama adaptation of Remarried Empress where he plays a prince who can also transform into a bird, lol don’t ask, and not sure if the drama will keep that fantasy element. But in recent years he’s gotten more acclaim for his darker dramas like Big Mouth and now he’s looking to reunite with that PD who also directed him in While You Were Sleeping for the K-drama Paradise. It’s from the screenwriter of the very harrowing Beyond Evil so this will definitely be a prestige production. If he accepts he will play a reporter caught up in unearthing a big conspiracy while working alongside a police officer.
Glad he’s in talks for this! I liked him a lot in While You Were Sleeping. His face doesn’t always work for me, but he’s a decent actor and does seem to avoid choosing totally terrible scripts.
……………Remarried Empress involves his character potentially transforming into a BIRD???? Why did no one mention this in all the other zillion posts about the drama lol
I’m sounding the same note about Remarried Empress as I did about Tempest – being a Disney+ original and exclusive usually means being buried because D+ does not promote its dramas AT ALL, if we’re lucky we’ll get two magazine photoshoots and a press conference and they’ll call it a day with that and then call the drama a flop because viewers had no idea it was airing. And before anyone brings up Perfect Crown, that was an MBC drama and MBC was responsible for the Korean promo it got.
anyway I’ll be interested in this new project, his dramas are usually at least a decent watch.
P.S. didn’t he already have Iseop’s Romance confirmed in February and due to start filming later this year? Now potentially another one…. is he trying to go back to his insane 20s pace of work now?
