Written Preview for Episode 1 of Protect the Boss and Third Trailer Released

At this point, with Spy Myung Wol underperforming for me, I need this upcoming drama like a thirsty desert traveler needs to find an oasis with a water source. I need K-drama crack, peoples! And damn if the third and final trailer for Protect the Boss isn’t yet another 100% win win win. Even the scoring is perfect (Avril Lavigne‘s “Girlfriend” – speaking of Avril, the only other drama trailer in 2011 that left me more rabid with want other than the PTB trailers was the second trailer for Lie to Me set to Avril’s “What the Hell”, so perhaps this is a sign).

I’m eyeing Wednesday like an eagle spotting it’s baby bunny prey. Here drama drama drama, come to Koala. I love the chemistry and the characters of the OTP already, and even Jaejoong looks super charming and slightly off-beat in the trailers. Lastly, Ahn Nae Sang makes a cameo in PTB as a super sleazy boss and I’m dying to see the always righteous dude play against type. Hee.

Written preview for episode 1:

After waiting forever for her first job, No Eun Seol (Choi Kang Hee) stands before her new office building on her first day of work and feels this odd feeling she can’t shake. That night, at the new hires welcome party, the location chosen is a high class room salon, which is totally odd. In addition, the manager sitting next to Eun Seol keeps making her so uncomfortable until she can no longer stand it and explodes.

Cha Ji Heon (Ji Sung) just so happens to be sitting in the room next door, getting increasingly irritated. He was dragged here for a meeting and is feeling pretty pissed off. He goes outside and in the corridor, the bumbling Eun Seol bumps into him….

  2. Since Jaejoong is kinda quirky himself, I hope he lets go and does a good job here.. It will be fun to watch. I didn’t like the male lead first because I’ve never seen him and his looks aren’t my type, but he is growing on me. I like his arrogant yet loser character portrayal.

      Try watching his drama Save the Last Dance for Me with Eugene. He is a good actor. You are going to love it.

    • I love Ji Sung. His role in Save the Last Dance was my favourite and that drama remains in my top list. I agree with Avesha, you should watch it – you will like it.

      He was also good in Swallow the Sun, and I heard, really awesome in Royal Family, though I have yet to watch it.

  10. I’ve been looking forward to this for one reason only – Ji Sung. In my eyes he’s one if those actors that you may pass over but everything you watch him in is great. I’ve loved every drama he’s done and he can play tragic, cute, funny and serious without effort. I’m looking forward to seeing him in something light after Royal Family (one of my favourite dramas this year) and the trailers are pure gold. Roll on tomorrow!

  11. The lead guy looks like how Mong-ryong (of Sassy Girl, Chun-hyang) would’ve been if you froze his maturity and aged him a couple of years.

  12. Although Jaejoong is in this drama, I’m not pulled in it yet… I dunno but it’s lacking something, I can’t pinpoint it yet. >.<

  17. I love this trailer and your header. Though I felt a oang because it wasnt KJH at first, but its still good. And woot I cant wait to see PTB! I really want it to give me the comedy that SMW didnt.

  19. I don’t want to admit just how much I want to see this drama. I have an idea about ep 1 and 2 already but I just can’t wait to see how it progresses from there. Love Ji Sung!! I know I’m going to love his quirky character. So cute! I need another new drama fix. I’m getting bored of the ones that are currently airing (not that they aren’t good just hasn’t resonated with me yet).

  20. OMG OMG i watched it from the halfway from SBS live (couldnt catch the fighting scenes but it’s okay) 😀 and LOL wish i had understood korean well:D but the second episode will be better imo (related to what i want to see of course) 😀 i hope it gets better and better in every episode:D
    ji sung’s room is the same room as Hwan tae kyung from you’re beatiful if i got it right:D
