Lee Chung Ah Midway Joins the Cast of MBC Sageuk My Dearest in a Third Reunion with Male Lead Namgoong Min
Ah heck you’re killin’ me Smalls! How can this happen yet again, that Lee Chung Ah will be starring with a drama with Namgoong Min and they are not the OTP. Lee Chung Ah is joining the cast of MBC highly acclaimed sageuk drama My Dearest playing a bounty hunter of Qing dynasty slaves from Joseon which sounds like a kickass baddie role with hopefully a twist. This will be her third time working with Namgoong Min in recent years, from their beloved fraternal twins with superpowers pairing in Awaken (Night and Day) to the tragic romantic couple of the past in One Dollar Lawyer. I thought an eventual third time would be the charm for a happy ending but alas I shall need to keep waiting.
Reading that role description really stretches the boundaries of credibility. I was hoping that this sageuk would try to maintain historical realism even if not historical accuracy.
Right? It feels like the universe is just teasing us at this point. This is the third time! Why can’t we just get a drama with these two as the romantic leads? They are so good together.
It’s really surprising when they’re not in the same agency. We often see an actors who follows the biggest star of his/her agency in different KDramas.
So I guess, we will have to wait for the 4th time.
If Jang Hyuk and Jang Nara can work four times, so should Namgoong Min and Lee Chung-ah.
