Period C-drama The Days of Seclusion and Love with Deng Wei and Vanda Margraf Keeps Halting Filming for the Third Time in Recent Weeks — 15 Comments

  1. I feel really bad that he wasn’t able to capitalize on the buzz and momentum from LYF season 1. Does he need a better management company or what?

    • People have been saying that his data is watery, that’s why he wasn’t able to capitalize on the buzz because there isn’t any.

    • I read in his own interview, he said he does not want to just accept any projects. In fact, he was given a number of offers. He said he is very selective and will only accept good offers. He can wait till good offers comes.
To be honest, after I read that interview, I am unsure if it was a smart move as he has not really establish his name firmly. But to each its own, he may have reasons to make such decisions.

For those who are keen on this interview, you have to search on Baidu…I watched from Baidu over 1 year ago. Google may have it too, I do not know.

      • @HL So selective yet he ends up accepting a project which has funds issues after not filming for a year? 🤣 I find his words laughable.

      • Do you believe that excuse, in the competitive world of C-ent that isn’t actually based off talent? Trained actors with proven resumes can’t pick and choose amongst the few good scripts out there, so I seriously doubt that’s the case. Not to mention, is Deng Wei independently wealthy or has a rich sugar daddy who is paying all his bills while he isn’t working?

Rumor has it, he got offers, but was refusing them, because they weren’t Male Leads for S+ productions. Needless to say, he doesn’t have the pull for that. Maybe this production told him that’s what he was signing on with Days of Seculsion and Love, but clearly they are having problems. And it isn’t surprising, given the previous stars and investors pulled out and the project was dead, before it got revived, changed platforms, and allegedly changed into a male centric script.

      • That was a dumb move on Deng Wei part…as someone who watched him in LYF and TTOTM..one of my favorite rising actor…does he think he’s at Xiao Zhan, Wang Yibo or even Luo Yunxi level??? He should be grabbing esp second ML roles in A and S level projects, willing to be gest starts in them too while trying to score his ML spots in top projects. With his status as not yet an established lead Actor…does he not see the hell of a competition with new actors breaking through recently…does he think he’s a big shot yet to be that picky?? Did he allow LYF momentary fame to get to his head?? I hope he knows what hes doing because his strategy doesn’t look quiet beneficial to his career.

    • Sounds like a combination of him and his management company because the other costars soared high already with so many projects already out.

  2. He can’t act and his data is all bought. He leeches like crazy and some people here are pretending he is picky and that’s why he ended up with this garbage project that can’t be even financed after the production cut away episodes?

The things I will read here. I cannot.

    • You are just not able to read between the lines… 😂 I guess some people need to be told how to taught hand by hand like a child how to…Read & Think. Thanks for a fun comment.

    • The sad thing is that his fans are already trying to blame his co-stars, especially the FL, accusing them of simultaneously taking too many breaks and stealing screen time at the same time. I desperately need this superpower of goofing off and accumulating more work hours at the same time.

They are also demanding screen rewrites (like that won’t cause delays) or a return to an alleged original DW heavy script. I would feel bad for the production company having to repeatedly deal with these sort of fan demands, but it’s their own fault. Truly, a troubled production.

  3. He was getting popular for a while after TTEOTM but his airport fiasco showed his arrogance. Plus he is not a very good actor nor have high commercial value to begin with so the industry just pass on another better actors.
