This is like too many current things converging for a future next thing for my taste, there is getting to be a bad sense of deja vu. C-ent casting is reporting that Meng Zi Yi will take on a Republic era revenge and romance C-drama titled Jing Gui 驚閨 as her next project, and the male lead in talks is none other than Cheng Lei who just aired a Republic era C-drama with The Lament of Autumn. Meng Zi Yi is herself right back on the small screen with Tigers Sniff the Rose, and perhaps the upside is that the male lead is not rumored to be a third time reunion with Li Yun Rui. Jokes aside, the industry has apparently fully killed off all talks of those doing being joined for another go-around since Tigers isn’t doing well and amen to that, please add some freshness to pairings dear lord. Cheng Lei was the best thing about Lament despite playing arguing the most problematic character as written but I do want him to do more than obsessed warlord types.
