First Look at Period at Slow Burn Politics and Romance C-drama Liang Chen Mei Jing with Ren Min and Ci Sha — 8 Comments

  1. I actually like this pairing from The Rise of Ning. There was a scene there where both ML and 2ML were drawing their bows (in an archery competition) and while ML was good, there was a certain fierceness with the way Ci Sha did that scene that made me remember him. And I agree, less idol baggage means less crazy fan theatrics. Always a good thing.

  2. Ooh I can’t wait for this one. These two had really good chemistry in The Rise of Ning, so I’m definitely looking forward to their reunion. I saw Ci Sha for the first time in the drama Forever and Ever and I was doing double takes because of how much he was reminding me of Takeshi Kaneshiro. He even recently starred in the Peter Chan movie She’s Got No Name that starred Zhang Zi Yi. Peter Chan is a long time collaborator with Takeshi Kaneshiro and I can totally see him and other directors snatching Ci Sha up with Takeshi being MIA for so long outside of that recent MUJI ad campaign that had internet buzzing over his return. Ci Sha’s been cast in a number of films starring screen legends, I hope some of that buzz spills over to his own career with this upcoming drama with Ren Min and his upcoming family drama The Way Home helping to cement his male lead status.

  3. I really like him in The Rise of Ning. His obsession and intense love for her was executed well by Ci Sha.

Just realize that he isnt that old, lmao. First time saw him in Ren Jialun and Bailu’s drama. I thought, he was older than RJL. Lol.

Anyways, looking forward to this drama.

  4. This pairing had a lot more chemistry between them than the lead couple in Rising of Ning. No wonder producers almost immediately cast them together in another costume to film even produce a drama so soon *-* I cant wait to see the story I didnt read the novel..
All costumes and filming sets looks very detailed and beautiful I feel like even if I end up disappointed in script I will probably watch it for leads and costumes.

  5. I really love this cast, the leads and the supporting are all actually good actors. The stills look really pretty too. I hope it’s good!

  6. Still it would be interesting to see how he fares as the male lead. I know many dislike Ren Mins so so acting but she did improve with the Ning drama. All depends on the script and its execution.
