Week two is always the best marker of whether a K-drama’s hot start will continue on the right trajectory and luckily for SBS weekend medical drama Doctor X: Mafia in White it’s definitely got real momentum. The drama starring Kim Ji Won as the titular rule challenging genius surgeon kept going on in ratings the second week of airing hitting a new high of 18.5% in episode 4. It’s also continued the buzz and maybe even padded it for next week with the arrival of Jang Seung Jo in a special appearance credit that is reportedly scene stealing. But unfortunately not all high profile K-dramas have done well recently, notably A Love Other Than Yours was supposed to be a high brow deep emotional issues type drama with well liked leads in Ahn Eun Jin and Seo Kang Joon but has really flatlined reportedly due to the unlikeable characters and messy interpersonal issues.
