New Video Preview for Episode 15 of In A Good Way

Those not watching In A Good Way are totally missing out on the best mood enhancer available right now. The new video preview for episode 15 just dropped and I swear it was an instantaneous pick me up. I’m grinning cheek-to-cheek and rolling around like I’m sixteen and tomorrow’s the prom with the cute guy I have a crush on. In A Good Way should be re-titled In a Good Mood because that’s exactly what it does for me. I’m still floating up in the air from the awesome confession in episode 14, one that really takes the cake in both emotional breakthrough and logical progression. We’ve seen Jia En grow from a clueless insecure girl into the thoughtful and take charge person before our eyes when she reached out to Liu Chuan and pulled him back from the edge of his own mental roadblock. So he isn’t as perfect as he wants to be, so he would ask for help from the very powers that he abhors, so he isn’t above the fray and has to roll around in the muck when push comes to shove. I hope Liu Chuan really starts to step down from his perch of untainted principles and is willing to live fully in a world that isn’t so black and white. His dad still is a giant douche but he’s still the dad and I think Liu Chuan has a lot more to learn than to either be super nice to the people he likes or super cold to the ones he doesn’t.

I love Jia En’s interpersonal skills more, she’s direct and less rigid with her beliefs, plus she is really patient and gives people space and time to work things through. She gave Bai Xue a lot of room to work through her feelings for Liu Chuan and that was rewarded by Bai Xue giving her the okay and genuinely being fine with it. The preview for episode 15 shows that the OTP is finally together as a couple, but in their typical fashion the early parts start off with equal bits hilarity and tooth aching cuteness. The drama is really great about following through on narrative threads and elements, and the phone call sequences between Jia En and Liu Chuan have been awesome whether it’s tentative calls about “what are you doing?” to calls on making a date to missed calls leading to angsty voicemails and now to calls that have an unexpected third person on the line. For those of us who came of age before the cell phone era, phone calls with a crush really were done on the home land line and involved the risk of random family members picking up from another handset and either listening in or even starting to dial without even checking. LOL, those really were the good ole days.

Liu Chuan: I think everything about you is adorable.

Jia En: I’m not perfect everywhere, I have some flaws.

Liu Chuan: If I say adorable then it’s adorable.

Jia En’s dad: I’m the most adorable!

Jia En: Dad! Fine, I’m almost done talking.

Tracy: Glowing with happiness, you’re together with Liu Chuan now?

Jia En: The way we are right now, what exactly is our relationship?

  1. You’re right, this was definitely the PERFECT pick-me-up for today!!! I’m currently sitting in the coffee shop trying not to fangirl obviously but the grin just won’t go away and people are starting to give me looks lol.

I loved everything about episode 14 and Jia En’s lovely confession to Liu Chuan and still haven’t stopped squeeing over it. I love all of their awkward phone conversations and this new one totally brought back memories of the 90s for me!!

Thanks Miss Koala for being so awesome and giving us so many great IAGW goodies (and all the other gems too)

  2. I’m sitting here trying to study for bio and falling asleep, but your post totally woke me up and put a huge happy grin on my face. Im recharged now. Thanks ms. Koala!

  3. Omgeeeee I actually blushed when they held hands, I remember the days before mobiles my first boyfriend rang me once on the house phone only for my brother to pick up and challenge him to a football match, I cringed then but now it’s oh so funny.

  4. These two make me smile and smile. Really they should show this show in hospitals. People would start feeling better right away.

  5. gaaaah smiling like an idiot here on my lunch break gaaaaahhh cracking up because it’s so real..and gosh they are so cute..ill be blushing if a boy tells me im adorable…huhuhu gaaaahhhhh

  6. OMG O………..M…………….G

I feel the same way about the confession. It gave me a solid happiness if that makes sense. No ifs ands or buts about how she feels and how he responded. They are no longer on shakey ground, but we still get to enjoy the frissons of the first hand hold, kiss and all the other stuff!!

The adorable line is delivered just the way he told her she was cute all those episodes ago, and she was too angry to let in soften her.
Everything LL says as LC feels sooooooo so freaking true. How does he do it? I don’t want to break it down, and look for how he moves his head or eyes to sell it. I just want to marvel at it.

    • How DOES he do it? Oh Jomo, been stalking your site to see if you were going to respond to the perfection that was episode 14. Have you recovered or are you still in a puddle of goo? When I was trying to get out of mine (the puddle of goo that I became after my fifteenth rewinding of the last ten minutes of ep. 14), I looked for you. Yes. We have all been Chuanned, and I am not sorry. I can’t explain his ability either; it is like this role was made for Lego Lee to play. Should I be worried about the number of times I have watched this preview?

      • LL has that certain boyish charm on him..the way he looks and talks like LC is a girl’s dream fantasy…i don’t know how many times i abused the play button on preview #15…the way he said JE is cute because she is cute gossssh I was smiling like a teenager..and i rewatched the concert scene towards the end AGAIN..when LC found JE from the crowd..the way LL smiled at RongRong because he finally found her and he knew she was going to be there..ahhh i was hypnotize lol…LL is very good at adding more LIFE to LC’s character..i just can’t imagine another actor playing LC especially the taiwanese actors I have watched.LL does not over exaggerate in his acting!

      • As far as the confession, I have been relishing it, and replaying it, and sighing.

There may be a post this week, but I am afraid to spoil it with too much attention. It is so perfect all by itself.

I marvel, too, at how perfectly the relationship developed over time. How JE has blossomed and how they have steadily earned the others’ trust like no two other friends in the show.

      • @clauric–you are right. Liu Chuan is that fantasy guy and not because he is perfect but because he is earnest and honest and always tries to the right thing. This combined with his utmost respect and admiration for Jia En. That is the difference. Notice I put respect first. He really, genuinely respects her and knows her value to him and to others. This is what women want (shaking my fist at the planet and at drama gods). AND this all comes out through those eyes of his. All of this comes through the way he looks at her as if every time he is so pleased to see this bright and shiny and lovely gift that deserves and thus gets reverence.

      • @jomo I really like how their relationship has developed, too. it is obvious that they belong together and not in the way that we usually get with an OTP but because they can really be themselves and the person really likes the person that is in front of them not some fantasy. They have similar responses to things even if Jia En is all bright and wide-eyed and Liu Chuan is wary and reserved. At the core, they have similar values–loyalty, truth–and are willing to fight for it as well as willing to be open to others. This is why both have so many friends and attract so many friends.

      • @trotwood totally agree! and i am glad that the writers took their time to develop their relationship…they got to know each other in a much deeper level..it’s beyond the physical attraction…it’s more on beliefs and personality that both REALLY got attracted to each other. And it’s nice to see the progress between the two and we can say that they are good for each other…I ship HARD for LC-JE and I don’t really feel sorry for RW at all if it took him forever to realize that he likes JE…

  7. Thank you so much for this post! i was down a bit b/c of the latest EK episodes (disappointed, actually), but this preview was an instant pick-me-up… thank you, Ms. Koala! ^__^

  8. Thank you.

You have no idea how many times I’ve replayed the last bit. Has this article gotten a lot of hits 🙂

It made me wake up with a huge grin this morning.

    • ohh!! same here… really got hooked this time.. soo pure and beautiful (quoting Liu Chuan’s earlier description of his feelings..)

  9. OMG so excited for Friday! In a Good Mood is right, this show is the perfect way to recover from the stress of the week and starts the weekend off on a great note. Thanks for always sharing previews and doing recaps for this show. I never would have discovered IAGW on my own. <3

  10. yahuuuuuu!! im almost dead, hahaha!!! i reallllyy LIKED the way Jia En confessed her feelings. they are really suitable to each other! 🙂 the twist of confession of Liu Chuan made Jia En’s confession really amazing and like a treasure found through series of twists, clues, hints and clever thinking.. waaaa! can’t wait for another episode. really washed my previous expectation after i watched ep12-13. haha! you’re great ms.Koala! thank you so much for this!!
