Yoon Eun Hye Reveals on Knowing Bros that the Street Date and Kiss Scene with Joo Ji Hoon in Goong was Filmed Live with a Real Crowd
Hearing news on classic Hallyu teen drama Goong (Princess Hours) is like a blast to the past. They really don’t make dramas like this anymore and this one still stands up on rewatch. Female lead Yoon Eun Hye was on variety show Knowing Bros this weekend and one topic she shared insider info on was filming the drama, specifically the scene after the OTP has acknowledged their feelings for each other and goes out of the palace grounds on a date. They are walking through the busy Seoul streets and then stop to steal a kiss. It’s adorable and even moreso hearing that the scene wasn’t staged or posed and instead the two leads were told to act like they were on a date and kiss as the camera was trained on the crowd from a distance. So everyone swarming around them were real passerby and the scene was filmed just like that. Afterwards when the two ran away it was also unscripted as the two were feeling shy having just kissed in public for the drama around the unsuspecting public. It’s soooo much awwww I can’t even.

It’s gonna be hard to remake this scene in the remake if they do decide to keep the scene…. People will know and just post it thanks to technology.
They’ll have to do it with actual extras instead of a real crowd, and even that’ll be tough in covid era.
But the 06 scene is frame for frame the same as in the manhwa, they really pulled it off well.
I think they can do it if its preplanned, like the fan scene in Kill Me Heal Me. And it’ll totally fit the narrative of a large crowd gathering since the Prince and Princess are basically celebrities in that drama world. With the right marketing and timing of shoot, fancams and reports can also help with buzz (although this drama doesn’t need it unless its doing poorly with the chosen cast or remake).
It won’t be as big if they do. Because it’s already expected…. Yoon Eun Hye and Joo Ji Hoon had rumors for at least a week since it was a secret. They didn’t expect it was part of the drama.
The remake can’t pull that off.
Why am I seeing this after having a break from re-watching the Goong series, like literally. Is the internet spying on me?.Haha, Well this scene is so epic, nothing can beat this. I always feel giddy whenever I see this.
Reading this made my chaekyung lee shin shipping heart so happy! My all time fave drama and top fave couple? That’s why it took me years and Monday couple to like JH in RM bec I was so bitter that she dated JJH irl lol!

I thought this was known since a while ago (def seen it mentioned ok youtube comments) but it’s nice to have confirmation!
Goong was really THAT drama, YEH and JJH may have been rookies to acting but their chemistry was flawless and it along with the aesthetics/production values, really made the entire production. It’s been 15 years and now kdrama wardrobes have all kinds of luxury designers sponsoring them, but no modern drama has ever approached the creativity of the traditional-modern hybrid costumes they had for Chae Gyung.
(I really hope they scrap the remake, but if they have to go ahead with it please at least make sure the leads have chemistry instead of just going for popular but dead-eyed idol actor types who don’t have chemistry with anyone)
My first crush and until now even if i like a lot of talented actresses , she ‘s still my fav . Perhaps because Goong was the first kdrama i felt in love with . This kind of chemistry is hard to find nowadays . They were only rookies under a lot of pressure but they did it . She did it again with Gong Yoo . The other couple i liked so much and wish to see reuniting is Kim Sun Ah and Cha Seung Won from City hall , they were amazing .
This is one of my favorites! So is Coffee Prince. Ms. Yoon is a great actress.
Princess hour is the Kdrama that started my obsession.
One of my all time favorites. It’s the only K drama I rewatch since it’s feel good each time. This drama was the one that started getting me to watch more dramas.
I have re-watched it many times. and I never tired watching. It’s only korean drama I rewatch. because this scene is so epic, nothing can beat this. and also the acting is all natural.thats why
this is my one and only all time favorite.& the actors and actresses are both beautiful. especially Eun Yoon hye (Bingung Shin Chae kyung) & Joo ji Hoon (Taeja Lee shin). They are perfect match.??? like (WOW!!!)???????
Nice to walk down memory for this drama. I must have re-watched it hundreds of times. It accompanied me in many field trips to the boondocks. Even without sound. And this street scene created such an impression on me the first time i watched. I recall thinking “wow, how did they do this?”
This was the reason why I became addicted to kdrama before. It was originally aired in the Philippines back in 2006 and I was only able to watch it in 2013, this drama is the reason why I keep on reminiscing and wanted to go back on my childhood days
What happens to her and Lee Da Hee, they just gone from K-entertainment industry, only Jang Nara appears on dramas now once a year
They got drowned by sea of new actress who is prettier and
The legend couple!!!
