I remember when this story broke two days ago I was like “who?” before going “OMG this is horrific and so so sad!” after reading the details. HK front page news including wall-to-wall coverage in the entertainment/society pages are all about the murder of socialite Abby Choi. She was 28-years old and the mother of four kids ages 10, 8, 5, and 3 and was twice married, having two kids with each husband. She was murdered after being reported missing and later certain body parts were recovered. The accused include her ex-husband and his family (father, mother, older brother) and now even a mistress to the ex-father-in-law was involved. She married her ex at 18 years old and divorced a few years later, but she bought a house in her ex-father-in-law’s name to let the whole family live in and still spent time with them having meals and kept her ex-brother-in-law on as her driver to give him a job.
She was seen last getting into car of the ex-brother-in-law to go pick up her two older kids before disappearing. The police raided a dingy apartment recently rented by the ex-father-in-law only last month and found her legs in the fridge, meat cleaver, meat grinder, and other weapons used for dismemberment and likely destruction of evidence. There were two big pots of soup on the stove in which human remain were visually spotted inside. The police launched a search for her remaining body parts and days later after forensic review found her head in one soup pot all boiled clean to the bone though there was damage to the bones indicating attempt to shatter it into pieces. Her torso and arms to date have not been accounted for. The family was all arrested with the ex-husband attempting to flee the jurisdiction but later apprehended. The dispute was reportedly about money as Abby wanted to sell the house they lived in and consulted with her lawyer on how to do that, but was willing to buy another smaller house for them. Her family is very wealthy in China and her parents and current husband have been bereft and overcome with her murder.
What in the actual hell… RIP.
Disgusting. I hope her ex and his family gets the death penalty. To do this is beyond cruelty. They deserve to die and serve her in the afterlife.

It is horrific, it is senseless and all over money. She should have just let them rot when she divorced that husband of hers. And they think they can get away with murder? It was pre meditated and again they think they can explain her disappearance? Now her children are half orphaned.
Oh my god, this is completely deranged and unhinged. They all deserve to hang but that would be merciful after what they did. May they rot in the worst possible circumstance in prison for the rest of their disgusting lives.

I know the former inlaws that murdered and dismembered her but I don’t know that she is already remarried. So all this while even tho she already remarried and move on with life, she still supported her former inlaws?? jfc

What in the bloody hell. Yes, NOT ALL MEN are bad, but like, every time I open the news it’s ALWAYS a man who raped, killed, or harmed a woman in some way, sometimes just because she rejected him. Luckily, the victim in this story was also rich or her family wouldn’t get justice, I’m sure of it. So infuriating.

This story, along with that of Junko Furuta and the Nirbhaya case, are why I’m afraid of the majority of men. Ugh.
