K-actress Han So Hee is hands down the biggest acting breakout in the last few years, going to true unknown in her first few dramas to one of the biggest buzz and CF hauls in a short period of time. Good for her, and doing so with keeping a strong individual personality and look in homogenized South Korea. This week she adds to her CF campaigns by landing a big soju brand that is switching to her from top idol Jennie of Blackpink she has done it for many years. It’s very normal to switch to current It Girls in soju campaigns which is also one of the most prolific in how frequently its seen plastered not just on traditional advertising areas but also private restaurants staring back at a diner urged to order another bottle lol. Even funnier is that Han So Hee made news last month when she posted on her SNS pictures of her looking totally drunk, laying out on the home patio and having her brother use her passed out back as a Jenga board. She owns up to it and doesn’t want to drink again haha but isn’t ashamed to share candids of some price to pay for over indulging.
There is a lot of things in the world that don’t make sense to me,and Han so hee’s popularity because of this “amazing beauty” is one of them.lol But I am wise enough to know that beaty is really, truly in the eyes of the beholder. you are not young forver, so good luck to her and all the money people are trowing at her.

Her upcoming Gyeongsong Creature will most likely be a domestic hit tho. Good for her! Congrats hsh, good to see an actress soi g it from scratch, but blackpink members aren’t loosing their sleep with their multi million global deals and record breaking tour which is going to gross 250 million usd with each member pocketing tens of millions from ticket sales and not to mention merchandise sales worth millions. Even snsd at their peak never have a 50 million dollar grossing tour even with Inflation which their fans used to boast about. Blackpink destroyed their records easily. And even newjeans Ive are destroying new generation. I’ve is two members and friends though. But newjeans every member is equally promoted. In 7 month of debut they have endorsed 11 brand deals as group, all massive global brands , and now each member has landed solo deals as global ambassadors. They will be millionaires in no time. That is because she’s the rare breakout in K-ent nowadays who is also traditionally good-looking. She’s not bigger than the likes of someone like Park Eun-bin. You can see the difference in the type of roles they are considering. Han is still playing second fiddle to the male actors, whereas Park will continue to lead one-top dramas. Though I’m sure in time, given HSH’s upcoming works, she will be given opportunity too. I am just not sure of her acting. She is not a very charming actor.

Soju endorsements are considered prestigious in korea, only the most popular It Girls get to endorse a soju brand, and it says something that HSH was picked to be a soju model. Like it or not, she’s huge in korea. Is her popularity proportional to her talent? Not exactly, but people like who they like and koreans clearly like her 🤷♀️

Does everyone here have a memory lapse? Han Sohee singlehandedly led My Name, which was a domestic (and intl depending on how you read the numbers) hit. My Name turned opinion around and wiped away all the negativity from Nevertheless.
Lol I think you’re referring to my comment? I know My Name was a hit, I meant that Han So Hee doesn’t have a traditional domestic hit drama yet with high TV ratings and all, as My Name only aired on Netflix. I’m sure her upcoming drama will change that tho

I have watch one of her dramas . I think that she is popular not because she is the best actress but her image seems to reflect her true self . Which in K industry is quite fresh . A lot of good actresses reflect a too polished image of themselves for fear of negative comments . I feel for K actresses because they have to show constantly perfection . Exhausting !
