K-actor Son Woo Hyun has been around for over a decade in supporting roles, not even second male lead so it is odd what has happened two dramas in a row. In last year’s Gold Spoon, netizens got upset that he was featured way more than any of the main four leads in video clips posted on the official MBC drama page and for official BTS videos recording him over the other leads. Now for the ENA drama Happiness Battle, he’s featured in 5 clips on the network page, has an account for his character, and the network even responds to fans in cheesy replies. Either he has major backing or else he just makes networks so happy to promote him lol I don’t know what’s going on but so far it annoy netizens more than helps him.
They know how to expand their viewer base. He was the lead in a Korean BL drama, To My Star, which had an equaally popular sequel. BL drama fans are pretty loyal, so they will watch almost anything one of their favs is in even if they aren’t in it that much. I just hope that he doesn’t suffer because of his fans since as you said, he has been working in the industry for years and is a solid actor. Many of his crazy fans are sorry he isn’t just doing BL shows but is auditioning and getting cast for a variety of roles. But then again some of those fans are so crazy that they also don’t want him anything else unlesss opposite his costar in To My Star.
