See You in My 19th Life Turns Sageuk Life and Death Dramatic in Penultimate Weekend Episodes Leading to Conclusion with 12-episode Run

I had to double check and confirmed that tvN weekend drama See You in My 19th Life is ending next weekend, it sure is as the drama is only 12-episodes long. That makes for a very tight narrative and this drama has done so, and the only filler scenes for me are the OTP hanging out scenes because I still cannot for the life of me every wonder why Joo Won/Ji Eun sees in young and even adult Seo Ha because he is dull as dishwasher both times. The only time Ahn Bo Hyun is even interesting onscreen are his brief snippets as the warrior dude in Ji Eum’s first life memories that she’s getting back. This drama remains the Shin Hye Sun show and she puts on such a bravura performance, restrained and warm but also explosively emotional in the drop of a hat. I wish the drama had not started with Joo Won and Seo Ha’s childhood and we got her first life instead to see all the blood and death stakes but then again I do love the palpable sisterly love of Joo Won and Cho Won so all those 18th life stuff only matters to me in establishing that relationship. I’m still enjoying the drama and can’t wait for the finale next weekend.

  1. it got boring but still much more tolerable than King The Land. God the cringe from that drama……

I just hope this drama will end well and round up all the problems cos the webtoon was super good.

  2. the only parts interesting in this drama were when they showed flashbacks of the 1st life. the 19th life story is extremely bland and the main couple’s romance unbelievable, whilst the downfall of the antagonists are so abrupt it felt like an aside.

  3. I really like it. I don’t think the ML is dull. He has a big trauma that is pretty understanding but still fights for the hotel. He’s competent in his job.

My issue is that the first life mystery addition. It wasn’t necessary and I would have prefered they focused on the 4 characters and not adding useless points on the only 12 episodes.

The cinematography is so beautiful! The passage with her all past lives.

  4. At first I was intrigued and I think it was quite nice, while I loke King the Land more. As the story progressed this became more interesting than KtL. But in the last 2 episodes I feel bored, I just want to see what happened in her first live, and see the Mr.Ha and Chowon.
This drama has so much flashbacks, esp that glimpses of her 1st life. That fabric scene being played over and over made me pissed.
However for the last 3 eps See You is better than KtL, who has transformed into giant ad, ads so important they have to create story just for the ads. No plot, just ads and ads.
Revenant still great, and Heartbeat continue to be better and better.

  5. This drama has bad background music and both SHS and ABH fumbled the bag for me. Not their best , SHS is better than ABH but I really can’t like SHS character here.

    • Both are good actors but in this drama they aren’t delivering their best . I don’t like either the hair color of SHS, it makes her look ill . She is better with a darker shade . She remembers me of the actual Yoon Eun Hye who has the same hair color and it doesn’t suit her too ! And i think that the mystery about her 1st life wasn’t necessary . More screen time of the 2nd couple would have been much appreciated .

  6. It’s only 12 episodes?! I had no idea. I’m not caught up yet. I do love the sisterly connection, and the scene where she first saw her mother from her 18th life was heartbreaking. Really well acted.
