tvN Kicks Off Promos for Arthdal Chronicles 2 with Script Reading Stills From Last Year with leads Lee Jun Ki, Kim Ok Bin, and Jang Dong Gun

Cable network tvN has a solid lineup for the remainder of the year and coming in September 2023 will be the quite unknown what to expect Arthdal Chronicles 2. It’s called Arthdal Chronicles: Sword of Aramun (or Aramoon) and takes place in a time jump from the original drama with the switch of leads Song Joong Ki and Kim Ji Won to Lee Jun Ki and Shin Se Kyung as the older versions of the same two characters. Kim Ok Bin and Jang Dong Gun return as their OG characters I guess adults don’t change into completely new faces in ten years but old teens do in them ancient days lol. All kidding aside, the OG drama was considered a disappointment in both ratings and reviews vis-a-vis the budget and hype, and I blame it mostly on the execution (bad PD) and next with the iffy script that aimed too high with the world building and didn’t deliver. But season 2 has a chance to reboot and for that I’m onboard to give it another shot.

  1. The whole production was an issue. They didn’t say the story will be tell in several parts. They released the first one, pushed Hotel del Luna between and released the second one without saying it won’t ben an end to the story… The story wasn’t so interesting, with the ML being captured by every ennemy possible. The interesting characters were not the main ones.

  2. I really enjoyed Arthdal Chronicles but I am not so sure about this cast change. I guess we’ll see. By the way, what’s with the face masks? Is there another covid crisis in Korea?

  3. Wait! How old is LJK now? He looks so young like he doesn’t age at all.💕
AC1 isn’t watchable. I’m not sure if I’d be interested in the sequel. AC1 left me impression the plot wasn’t up my street at all. If the sequel is the continuation of AC1, then I’d hesitate to check it out. Otherwise, something like The Lord of the Rings trilogy or Star Wars, each has its own storyline, then I’ll give a shot.

  4. I literally couldn’t get past 1 episode of the first one. It was so bad and cringey in everyway (and I love fantasy). However, I have great hopes for season 2 all because of Lee Jun Ki who can do no wrong in a historical drama (even a fantasy one). It’s been a while since I have seen my favorite actor flying around with a sword and long locks so this better do him justice…….or at least not embarrass him or there will be heck to pay!
