Next week on November 10th is the premiere of The Marvels and I don’t recall a MCU movie being as non-buzzy as this one. The talk of the downswing of Marvel movies has been going on for a few MCU movies now probably after Endgame since The Eternals but reportedly The Marvels is tracking at a lower opening than even DCU movie The Flash which flopped this summer. All this to say poor Park Seo Joon getting his first Hollywood big role in The Marvels and saddled with one ridiculous costume after another and the movie may not do well. At least it’s clear from the new promos that his character Prince Yan is supposed to look flamboyant and rather cheesy so he’s gotta lean in and own it haha.
The Marvels will most likely be the lowest grossing MCU film EVER – and that’s not even taking inflation into account.
Hollywood’s is having an Actors strike right now. They just resovelved the writers strike. Which during writer and now actors strike. They refused to promote the movies.
That’s not why this movie is flopping.
The movie hasn’t premiered yet.

Is situation really that bad in US? Just reading about them in papers are different from really seeing the effects in US.
Writers’ strikes have affected related filming industries such as CGI studios. A lot of projects were pending and some well known studios had to lay off engineers as much as 50% in the meanwhile. The job markets in those professions were in limbo. Once the union stroke a deal with the management, the market revived again. It had a huge impact on many people working in the related industries.
The 1st still looks as if his head were gonna flying away! LOL.
