So a pre-production xianxa C-drama Love Beyond the Grave (Chinese title 白日提灯 or Carrying a Lantern in Daytime) is accelerating its prep and in in talks with Dilraba Dilmurat as the top billed female lead. Because her revenge life-skipping multiple male leads C-drama is taking so hard to confirm the male leads, if she accepts this one it will start filming in the beginning of 2024 while that other drama will film after likely end of 2024. This sounds like a win-win she can take on a big drama now and if the casting for that drama looks iffy she can drop it later who knows. For this drama, early talks was the male lead being Chen Xing Xu but this was before Dilraba was offered the female lead, now the buzz is that the male lead will be Chen Fei Yu. I’ll believe it when it’s inked.
It keeps changing…I bet all the popular names will be out soon… I cannot imagine Arthur Chen’s dad will encourage him to take on this role. After his love news popup, his dad have been guiding him to be more careful. And Arthur now knows how easy it is to loss everything…
If he does take on this role, there will be a good reason…
It’s still too early to confirm any info. I wish it can be Wang Anyu though. Although he received criticism for his role in his current drama with Zhao Lusi, I lowkey ship him with Dilraba in Divas Hit The Road LOL.
Arthur Chen is filming the drama Offering Fish right now and it might take couple months. How is he going to film this drama in the beginning of 2024?

I never get Reba’s acting although it’s fun to watch her steaming chemistry with Yang Yang in You Are My Glory. LOL. I like Arthur Chen in Lighter & Princess though. His acting in Ever Night was also impressive although I didn’t make to finish that drama cos the plot was boring. He’s the kind of actors who have charisma of their own on screen and very recognizable. It’s a shame his acting career has been overshadowed by his famous director dad. I personally think he’s a much better actor than most of the 2nd to 3rd tier liuliangs.
Ever Night is one of my favorite dramas! I’ve even rewatched it a few times. The beginning is slow though, but the story is truly epic in my opinion. However, I do understand that people have different tastes and perspectives, so it’s okay if you didn’t like it :). I just hated that they changed so much of the cast in season 2, that it felt like a completely different story. The way some of the actors portrayed the role in season 2 was just too much of a dramatic change for me. The hardest thing for me was that Dylan didn’t have the same broody gravitas that Arthur had while still being cheeky.
Yeah, I was sorta bored out of the first few eps of Never Night although I enjoyed the chemistry between the OTP. I don’t remember the FL’s name but she looked so petite and cute; her acting was actually good and unique. Perhaps I need to give a shot again, just fast forwarding the first few eps?

Chen Xingxu has better suited with Dilraba! His performance in costume dramas better than modern drama!
