Big C-blogger Basically Confirms Its Dilraba Dilmurat with Chen Zhe Yuan for Big Budget C-drama Love in the Turquoise Land

C-drama melon time, and this one is likely to be confirmed. A big C-drama blogger is now saying that Love in the Turquoise Land (枭起青壤 Xiao Qi Qing Rang) that is slated for Dilraba Dilmurat as the female lead will now get Chen Zhe Yuan as the male lead. Originally the hope was to pair her up with Dylan Wang in a big liuliang combo but that’s not happening and the choice of Chen Zhe Yuan feels just fine to me. He’s getting popular and has a few other dramas on deck so between now and when Turquoise he may level up once more after last year’s big success for him with Hidden Love. Unlike Gong Jun he’s also strong on the OTP chemistry with his female leads.

  1. If this news is real, I’ll be so happy for CZY, he’s got loads of talent and has worked his ass off for a number of years, so I’m glad he’s finally getting his due from the exposure from Hidden Love. Good for him! He’s been stuck with dud roles for so long. And the other potential breakout drama (where he played the 2nd lead with Yang Zi in The Golden Hair Pin) has been perpetually put on the shelf as far as I know. Hope this drama works out for him.

    • Babe, I think you need to refresh your news feed, The Golden Hairpin will be broadcasted this year. Yangzi studio basically confirmed it when they sent out gifts with Yangzi characters that will be airing this year. Her character from TGH was there. Thanks to the success of LYF did they only manage to bring back that drama from the shelves

  2. I wonder why they are waiting till March to shoot. Has CZY finished White Olive filming? Diraba completed her last project months ago. Is the director busy right now?

  3. I enjoyed Chen Zhe Yuan’s modern drama…but did not enjoy his period dramas. I think this drama is a modern drama, if I am not mistaken.

I have seen video of how Chen Zhe Yuan looked like before he debut… he has changed quite abit…..but in a good way. He definitely had quite a good surgeon making small adjustments on his face. His career benefitted from this change. But not all artistes look good after being under the knife. But I do miss the days we see all natural good looking faces on screen… But times progress…AL will be the new norm one day.

I personally think PS is so common these days, it is no longer a shocking news. It is not easy to find artistes that has no works done at all especially as they age…

    • Really? I personally don’t think he’s had anything done under the knife, seems like he just grew into his face and matured. He’s a very charismatic actor and his persona changes with every role.

      • @Krissy, @Mercy, @Soph, his nose definitely, he had a wider nose and bit of fillers in his cheekbones to highlight his beautiful eyes…not much work but definitely abit to define his bone structure and eyes.
Don’t get me wrong, I think he looks good now. But a bit of work is really normal, especially nose as many Asian are really not gifted with high and chiseled nose.

Again, you guys need to agree with me. I am just making a opinion. Really no offends intended. I like this raising artiste amongst many others, thus will follow his work. he has eyes that can act, a rare skills compared to many others.

    • Lol, he has not done anything to his face, from his kid photo to now, he has matured into his face, which is normal has it happens to every human being.

    • I also don’t see changes to his face either outside of natural maturing… I’ve seen his young teenager photos and his features are the same..

    • I see changes in his nose as well. It’s so much slimmer at the tip. Could just be filler at the tip to make it more pointy. Regardless it looks good and subtle.

  4. I hope he and his team don’t try any more tricks after they wrap up filming. I liked Hidden Love and hoped to see more of his works but the long drawn out fight with Ju Jingyi for equal billing after he gained popularity was in such bad taste. Signed up as 2nd billing, stay as 2nd billing.

    • Nah no way will he be able to fight Dilireba for top billing. He can’t even win Ju Jingyi in terms of liuliang, what makes his team think he can fight the top female liuliang Dilireba?

  5. CZY is a classic actor,he can adapt to changes quickly
As need arises given any role he portrays it very well, very versatile in his acting skill, so dont be judgemental whatever changes others may see in him, following his dramas,he just keep on improving himself that makes him better and talented.

  7. Oh Reba! I really don’t get the hype about her. Her looks are not Asian and I’ve seen this type of beauty almost every day here in the US. I hope to see Asian faces leading Asian dramas. I couldn’t finish ANY of her costume dramas. I think she tends to overact besides her western looks that appear out of place in C antient settings. But her chemistry with Yang Yang in You Are My Glory was swoony. Chen Zhe Yuan is a better actor than Reba IMO. CZY’s acting in Hidden Love was convincing, not forced, and he had charming interactions with Zhao Lusi. Yet to watch him in more dramas to see if he’s a versatile actor or just good at romance. Some actors are like the latter and have limited acting chops for other genres, e.g., Yang Yang.

    • Because Reba is natural, nobody gets your hype about Zhao Liying either who did tons of plastic surgery to look like Yang Mi and then media attacks Yang Mi and Reba all the time, as well as every other rising actresses like Zhao Lusi and Li Yitong. At least all of Reba’s dramas have a plot, all of your Zhao Liying’s drama have no plot at all. You promote Zhao Liying all the time, your mouth stinks like your boss.

      • LMAO. I’m not a fan of any of these C actresses. ZLY or LUS or LYT, their dramas were either hit or miss. I only watched two dramas of ZLY while skipping many scenes or fast forwarding. But she’s definitely better than average C actresses including Reba and Yang Mi IMO.

    • Reba’s beauty is Middle East beauty, though she’s Chinese national her bloodline is Uyghur/ Turkish that’s why she’s so beautiful. She’s really good even in costume drama, love The Long Ballad & The Legend of Anle of her costume drama & for modern love You Are My Glory too with Yang Yang. As for Chen Zhe Yuan he’s a versatile actor too, love all his costume dramas as well Handsome Siblings, The Legend of Zu2 & his present one The Legend of Zu 2 are all good. I know they’ll make a good chemistry tho others are saying that he looks so young with Dilireba coz he’s really younger in years but he’s got chemistry with all of his FLs though some of them are not that much of a beauty like Zhao Lusi. They’re both good actors do I know they’ll have a good result. Before Hidden Love was shown there’re lots of criticisms that CZY is not good for Zhao Lusi but then it became a hit & now they’re one of China’s favorite CP. Whatever I love to see Dilireba & Zhe Yuan to be paired up.

  8. i’m super excited about this pairing!!!(apparently, Dylan Wang is a BIG Dilraba fan, so I wonder how he feels about his fandom screwing his chances of pairing up with his idol. To be fair i do know it was a war between his and her fans). I think CYZ has potential and loved him in emotional scenes in Hidden Love. Maybe he will bring out the depth I felt Dilraba has always lacked a bit in her dramas, especially modern ones. (I love her but my girl has her limits)
*sighs* What happened with GJ and their drama Legend of Anle left a bittersweet taste for many fans. It’s really sad, because they actually have a lot of chemistry offscreen and even make headlines for sitting next to each other at events, but the mess of a script failed them.
