Gong Hyo Jin in Talks for Revenge Thriller K-movie Gyeongju Trip Playing a Mom of Four Avenging the Death of Her Child with Park So Dam as the Younger Sister

I can totally see K-actress Gong Hyo Jin working a lot in the next two years, what with her singer husband Kevin Oh currently serving in the military after enlisting for his service last month in December 2023. She has the big budget K-drama When Stars Talk opposite Lee Min Ho coming out sometime this year and now she’s in talks to headline a new K-movie. The project is called Gyeongju Trip (or Trip to Gyeongju) and she will play the female lead, a mother of four daughters who loses her youngest to a violent incident. She learns the perpetrator is being released from prison and takes her three girls with her to Gyeongju to enact her own revenge. Sounds like a modern refreshed take on Lady Vengeance and I’m all for it. After news of her casting came word that Park So Dam is also in talks to join her playing her younger sister. Hot dam, so much talent in one screen coming!

  1. I adore Gong Hyo Jin…such a wonderful actress. Not as keen on Park So Dam… I have watch a number of Park So Dam projects…and come out not feeling for her characters.. It is just me.

  2. I always found countries that have compulsory Military Conscription very interesting… time range from months to years. In light of possible war, this practise is good. In my Country, there have been more recent talks of conscription for war against Russia… really scary if it does happen.. There are wars around the world…One may feel save now but one never know.
Thus conscription is no holiday camp…must be taken seriously.

      • I am from UK…War against Russia was not even in our table conversation but there are talks from parliament last 2 days.. now this is dinner table talks at home…not taken too seriously yet but a start at least.

Do you have this concern in your Country too?

I dont hate Russia as frankly, I dont know about the Country. I have a number of very good Russian friends but I dont like Putin.

      • I asked because friends of mine from eastern Europe are really afraid that the war could possibly spread or at least inpacted neighboring countries harshly.

I’m from Germany and never thought that war could strike Europe again. Of course, we have a lot of issues here. However, I can’t belive the rising numbre of people, especially in the eastern part of Germany, who are pro Putin and/ or right wing extremist.
We did abolish mandatory military service for young men in 2011. The voice for reinstalling it are still very few. Most of the time the military here gets laughed at for been bad equipped and badly managed. But like you said, you never know what could happen. Better safe than sorry

      • Oh yes, the anti AFD protest had a far greater turn out then I realised..

But better safe then sorry is definitely true.

  3. It’s hard to imagine how the pairing of Gong Hyo Jin and Lee Min Ho will look like. I never thought about these two could be paired together. Their auras are so not compatible with acting chops of different levels.

  4. and rumour has it that Kim Dami will also join the cast, omg, they are one of k-actresses who are mostly known for their acting skills. I can’t wait my favs in one drama, my gashhhh!
