After all that public fighting over billing order for Sword and Fairy 4 (Chinese Paladin 4), this mix up is especially funnier and more karmic for the production company. This week on one of the streaming landing pages for the drama, eagle eyed viewers noticed that the names of leads Ju Jing Yi and Chen Zhe Yuan instead read Liu Shi Shi and Liu Yu Ning. The obvious assumption is some coder just lazily used the A Journey to Love prompts for the drama and caused this mix up. It was fixed shortly thereafter but now all four fandoms have been offended to varying degrees. While here I continue to munch popcorn to enjoy the more entertaining show outside the show.

So, those that watched this drama… did Chen Zhe Yuan is deserving of Top billing? Just curious…
He is surprisingly bad in it. I don’t understand why his team pushed this when he was significantly better in some other dramas.
Agree with this, the plot was another boring wuxia, nothing new about it

I only watched the first 3 eps. I don’t think CZY was bad in acting. I always think he can emote more naturally than average Chinese idol actors. Neither him nor JJI do I consider bad in this drama. But I only watched 3 eps and dropped it cos of boring and predictable storylines. So, the first few eps can’t tell it all.
I dont think he is a bad actor too but maybe he is able to really understand his character well…I like him alot in Hidden Love but really did not like his period drama after..
He need more experience to stablize his skills…
He’s overacts, try hard to be cute/ innocent.
I will watch afew eps… I am so cautious as I remember just how bad Yang Yang was in Martial Universe, it turn me off him in that drama… But Chen Zhe Yuan has more skills in Hidden Love…hope as his character grow..his acting may be more comfortable to watch.

I waited a year for it to air, read the 1000+ chapter only for it to end up disappointing… Yang Yang acting was bad but worse is his character’s setting, how did lin dong became wishy washy guy.. the villain suddenly becoming the kind guy arghhhhhhh
The prop and location did not fit, the plot is trash, the character casting not matching, they even changed the whole plot and power level.
Because of that I quit became yang yang’s fan until YAMG came out…..
@Yuhyi, I feel your pain… I was so shock just how bad he was and it was not just his fault, of course…but his acting was so awkward. I could not watch further. He was no bad in King Avatar but not memorable, You are my Glory, he was suitable for that role.
Thus, I do get more cautious on newbies that I have slight fondness for. If Chen Zhe Yuan is just as bad here, I rather not watch this drama… He has others that will be better… He has much more potential then Yang Yang acting wise..

Yang Yang really did not fit lin dong role. Like I still don’t understand why they made grown up YY in the role of young teen. Hire some child actor damnit! It’s similar to how chen zeyuan role here, having to act childish with that obviously adult face…
And yeah him in King Avatar wasn’t very good either, I couldn’t sense the languidness the character ye xiu should have. The decision to make everything bright too, I can understand why they made him non smoking dude, but still, yang yang fails to deliver. Yang yang’s perfect role is still in YAMG.
That experience also made me cautious, in that I will never read the story prior to the airing, so I won’t have high expectation… Chen zeyuan does have better acting potential than yang yang, he was good in Hidden love so I won’t use this one to gauge his skill, he should have better project in the future that I can watch
If only it was really Liu Shishi and Liu Yuning!

What a shame.. all this drama around the drama SMH.. CZY is one of those actors who doesn’t have ‘flat’ eyes. He can actually emote through them. JJY seems charismatic enough. The production got greedy to have the hype from both leads and now it has backfired on everyone. *face palm*
