Yang Chao Yue Attempts to Break Into French High Fashion Attending Show in Paris After Angelababy’s Crazy Horse Mishap Leaves Opening
So by all accounts C-starlet Yang Chao Yue was not a very good singer/idol, and I can attest to the same by all accounts she’s a terrible actress. Which leaves the third leg of stardom the fashion and CF industry perhaps her best bet and her agency has kicked off trying to make her happen there. She was in Paris this week for a fashion show and the image her agency want to project is cool, chic, modern, and edgy. No cute or girly frocks for her. Reportedly her agency thinks this is a prime opportunity after Angelababy got iced last year for attending the Crazy Horse show which leaves the C-actress in Parisian fashion circles opening for someone with Yang Chao Yue’s looks which is very similar to Angelababy. Heck, if she can claw her way into that vaunted circle all the credit to her.
Just on breaking into fashion world. Yang Chao Yue cannot replace Angelababy at all…
I’ll be the first to admit I’m no fashion expert, but her outfit here just looks like a black cloak that’s too big on her. Angelababy might be equal with her in terms of terrible acting, but Angelababy is definitely a much stronger fashion icon/model. She wears the dresses, the dresses don’t wear her.
I donāt care about fashion, so this would be the best place for her. Then weād be spared her bad acting.
She sure is pretty, but maybe lacking a bit in the charisma department and there are many, many girls with this type of artificial beauty around. Becoming a star in this career may not be as easy as she or her agency think.
Her dress really looked alike Kaonashi in spirited away. Although I don’t really like Yang Ying, but the fashion taste Yang Chao Yue shown really awful in the picture. Yang Ying thousand times better in fashion even her acting terrible to core.
Why all the hate toward this poor girl, she broke crying on set on her last drama after many attempts to do well in one scene and wasn’t satisfied with herself, she is pretty aware of her shortcomings and always trying to improve, at least she is not like Angelbaby who her acting is way worse but she refuses to knowledge that, she is a star in the end,so why cant she attend a stupid fashion show in Paris, even some petty insta influencer do

“Taking roles from good actresses”, who are those “good actresses”, many young actresses like YCY need to do many projects to get audience recognition, including Zhao Lusi, who many called annoying and ugly in her debut before she actually got her chance,

I don’t hate Yang Chao Yue. She is typical flower vase, someone who has look but really not talented in anything. Work hard, Good you mentioned about her working attitude such as retake one scene for many times until she satisfied which actually only wasting everyone time. If she really serious understands what is called as work hard for her career, she should learn how to act, take acting class and even if she still wanted to be a singer, take singing class, sharpen her skill.
anon, There is nothing wrong with taking a shot multiple times that is called being professional, even big stars do that, that means you care ab the quality of work you are giving to viewers and who said she not taking acting classes, not some entitled actresses who even use body double to cooking scenes to not cut their precious hands, or pretend to eat when they clearly not eating cuz they afraid to get fat, disrespecting the audiences

She can attend the fashion show. where did anyone say she can’t here? People are just saying she’s a far cry from the established brand that AB is. Not to mention she didn’t look particularly good in any of the outfits she wore. The pictures above look like she was swallowed by a black curtain.
And about your example of how hard she worked. As others mentioned, she should’ve done the prep work beforehand, not waste everyone’s time on set. Filming schedules are tight and not everyone gets paid like her. The poor crew that’s suffering with her while she’s crying get paid peanuts. Other people have scenes too. If you’re serious about your craft, then actually do the diligence on your own time and show the audience improvement. She’s a nice and cute girl, but in all honesty, absolutely talentless.
Angelababy is another thing, but YCY is another thing too. I think her breaking down on the set shouldn’t be a warrant for us to feel sorry for her. Does she want our pityness? When she’s asking to retake scenes just because she wasn’t satisfied, she’s also taking up resources and people’s time. Why couldn’t she pratice on her own time?…If she really cared about her work then she needs to hone her acting and possibly take up minor roles to improve.

Take it all with a pinch of salt. I can read Chinese (and Hangul rudimentarily) and there has not been any comparison between Angelababy and Yang Chaoyue.

But I like YCY’s looks and I actually prefer her’s to Angelababy’s. However, I think her face suits Asian high fashion more than Western, because they value prettiness more than pronounced features.
She is definitely leagues apart from Angelababy’s stature in the industry.

Iām also one of those who prefers YCYās looks, just like Iāve always preferred Janice Manās looks. YCY needs to find finds the right styling for herself and play her more oriental doll like features to her advantage similar to Devon Aoki – right now it still feels like sheās too focused on looking pretty. I never quite saw the appeal in ABās looks as a fashion icon (too Disney princessy) and I believe that she benefitted a lot from having the right looks (she looked like she jumped right out of Vivi mag like Lena Fuji at the height of its popularity) and opportunities (her marriage to HXM helped elevate her status) at the right time that cemented her popularity.
Heyyyy we have that in common. I also like Janice Man more and couldn’t understand the hype with AB and Lena Fuji or Leah Dizon. But you’re right, AB had the right timing and opportunities to make a hit.
That is why to get Yang Chao Yue to replace AB is not possible. The investment on AB amounts to tons of money and work… It is not just about her looks(which I am not a fan). It is more then that.
With economy situation and competitiveness in this industry now…I really dont know who will invest so much to create a new brand now to replace AB.
I also prefer Janice Man’s looks. Although she might not be an oscar worthy actress, she is definitely a way better than AB. Low bar though.
In AB’s defense, she doesn’t always wear disney dresses, although I think her personal preference might be. When you look at her editorial shoots, she makes whatever she wears work. You’re right YCY has some semblance of Devon Aoki, but Devon Aoki is so much edgier.

The thing is, AB is already solidified and since her ban was lifted, she was immediately spotted at the BAFTAs in a gorgeous dress. And that’s because, like Jackson Wang, TF Boys, Dilraba, Ni Ni, Wang Yibo, Xiao Zhan, AB has made long term connections and resources.
The dress is typical of Balenciaga’s current look and she does’t have the aura to carry it. Had they given her something shorter, she could still make it edgier and youthful. This look is way too serious and would have been pulled off by someone with a little more style cred like Chloe Sevigny or Julia Fox. The hair down just seemed into the dress and drowned her altogether.
