Well this is the best malicious compliance and evil thwarting I’ve seen from a top celeb and I LOVE IT! Last month Xiao Zhan was leaving the airport when he was naturally swarmed by paparazzi or so-called Dai Pai who take pictures of celebs and sell to publications. It was as chaotic and bad as it ever gets with phones and cameras shoved in his face and causing people to fall and basically a dangerous situation. He got so mad he harshly rebuked the photographer to stop it but of course those lowlifes never will. So since then, he’s been wearing the most ridiculously big and long black winter puffer jacket after he leaves the filming for the period C-drama Zang Hai Zhuan (Legend of the Hidden Sea) so basically not an inch of him can be seen underneath. He’s been wearing it every day for over a month and now as it’s getting hotter he still does it and apparently is taken to wearing a tank top underneath because of the heat but he’s not stopping. Good for him for taking a stand and I feel bad for his comfort level but this is the kind of celeb “f*&k you” I can wholly get behind.
Poor Xiao Zhan!!! The price of being top liuliang is never a comfortable seat. But I am glad he is taking a stand. I wonder which of his sponsor will design a black coverall outfit with their logo next? That will be fun.

LOL. This has been on Weibo for a while. Idk why Koala is so late for the news. XZ is perhaps the smartest celeb that give annoying paparazzi and crazy fans nothing to gossip about. One famous paparazzi once said that it’s so boring to follow him; XZ basically was shuttled between his lodging places and filming sets every day. Absolutely no inch of skin to be shot or juicy stories to write about. LOL.
Given that so much crap has been on the media recently interfering K celebs’ lives off work, I won’t mind them just giving those busybodies middle fingers. LOL
Actually, he’s been wearing this same set of outfit long before the airport incident in Feb. This is the same set of outfit he wore to the zhz booting ceremony on Dec 30. He has multiple sets of the same outfit and has been wearing them daily since then, just minus the white hoodie now. He’s done this before in his previous filming.
He can go full on bucket hat down to his eyebrows, a black N95/K94 mask, and jacket zipped up to his chin. That’ll do it.

Although he’s been doing so for a while, I still LOL when seeing these pics here. He’s really getting smart to protect himself. As a fan, I don’t have to worry his privacy or image right gets violated.

He has been like this since Zanghai started filming.
There is a video of him first leaving the set and as his car leaves, you see paparazzi car after car pulling out and following him. It’s so creepy.
The set is completely walled off with canvas and there have been instances where they have torn through it to try and grab photos. One pretty memorable one is a pap who has climbed the scaffolding over two stories high with no safety equipment whatsoever to try and get a shit (he did succeed). The demand for Zanghai leaks is crazy in China. Whenever they make it, it goes straight to hot search with millions of views. Its not just Xiao Zhan that is driving this craze, it is that he is working with the legend Zheng Xiaolong.
I am not surprised at all he is walking like this. The only middle finger he can show them. Good for him. His next set is a movie and they should be better controlled so hopefully he can wear normal clothes for the summer.
What’s the name of the new movie he’s going to film? I thought he only had Legend of Condor Heroes and Zanghai scheduled for this year in terms of the works he’s doing (even though I know Legend of Condor Heroes have already finished filming and just needs to be released now).

I have given up watching C dramas except for XZ’s dramas. Legend of the Hidden Sea is the only C drama I’m currently still looking forward to. C dramas are boring and production values are far behind K dramas by miles. I still goof around the C blogs to continue my criticism of C dramas and have popcorns. LOL.
Hahahahha. I have to agree. The production and plot of most Cdramas nowadays are just so boring and subpar. I always end up dropping them. Personally, 2024 has been disappointing in cdramaland. Only looking forward to xiao zhan drama now.
Your criticisms are not going to change absolutely anything, the world of Chinese series will continue to get worse, sadly. But if it relieves you to criticize instead of ignore, you’re going to be more attached than you think lol. Giving attention to what you don’t like speaks badly of you, especially when you quickly become angry when your opinion is not shared. You even fall into baseness. I would only watch Xiao Zhan but even he participates in bad scripts lol.
This reminds me of when Daniel Radcliff wore the same outfit every day going from a play rehearsal to stop paparazzies from being able to use/sell the photoes.
