So the Golden Eagle Awards are for the serious fare and most of the Flowers in C-ent are doing idol dramas with the rare one-off to tackle a procedural or war-era period piece. But it is striking that both Yang Mi and Liu Shi Shi are ignominiously called out for being the only two Flowers without a nominated drama in the just released nomination list of 150 dramas. Voting is open one and it will be winnowed down to 10 dramas as the finalist. The period spans May 2022 to April 2024 for dramas that aired during that two year window, and Yang Zi leads with four of her dramas nominated. All the top older and current Flowers all got at least one drama nominated including Crystal Liu, Dilraba Dilmurat, Zhao Li Ying, Bai Lu, Zhao Lu Si, Tang Yan, and Zhou Ye.
Very unfair. My journey to love is not worse than the other costume dramas shortlisted. I understand FSMM not getting shortlisted but i thought Harbin would enter, the douban score is not that bad. I wish i could see the full list.
I forgot the Golden Eagle is for dramas aired on TV. A Journey to Love had no chance because it was an webdrama. Koala you should give us more context in some articles. I was already cursing the judges.

@ somebody u r one of the few who think lusi had unique look because I remember commenters her thoughts she has the girl next door vibe that make her relatable to other women. Maybe in your eyes she is , but she has never been counted has a ‘unique beauty’ has u put it among the c ent stars. I still think she has her charm alright.
According to her recent livestream on Guelian, it is an intentional effort on her part to make her character In LA look different from the others she has played. Weather the extreme weight loss is part of her character I do not know unless the show airs but her outfit and her change in make-up routine are heavly part of the way she want her character in LA to look.

I have my reservation about all the ps allegations against her, I feel she has learned to style herself better has she matures but no one really knows the actual truth anyway. If she is going to the extreme for a character, am actually looking forward to what project she will pick after LA.

In this instance, losing extreme weight for characters is not unusual, similar to adding weight for characters. Liu Haoran lost so much weight for his character in his new film on Decoding. My favoiurite idol- Zhou Shen is one of the lead singers of the film.🥰🥰
I am however keen to watch Zhao Lusi’s new project on this character. I am just hoping after the project finishes…she will get back to a healthier weight.
@HL, I used to be shocked learning that my bestie’s Caucasian lawyer boyfriend regularly visited NYC to get his face “fixed.” Not anymore LOL. I’ve lately heard that many Koreans in the US also had some PS done. PS seems so common today that’s treated like other medically necessary procedures. And PS surgeons make way more money than other specialists. No wonder some major medical fields such as child neurology have shortage in specialists cos a lot of med students went for more lucrative cosmetic surgery.

@Somebody, there is a huge shortage of hospital doctors in SK…It is a big problem. We know where they went… as long as there is demand, there is supply. The PS industry is so busy in SK, apart from locals, many people will travel to SK for PS tourism.

Her acting style, nonetheless, is absolutely NO girl next door! She is one of very rare C actresses that own exclusive charisma on screen just belongs to themselves. That’s a star quality!

Awards in China are not necessarily about talent. Even the number of dramas per year is taken into account. It’s pathetic but I have to get used to it.
Agree with you, compared to korean awards, it just felt lacking. It feels like there’s not much competition since most of them is mediocre anyways. But chinese award is more interesting to watch because the styling is so good. In korean award every actor is on similar looking suit and the actress is in simple white or black dress
