K-actor Jang Geun Seok Shares Update that He was Diagnosed with Thyroid Cancer and is Recovering Successfully After Surgery
Well this is disheartening news to hear but the silver lining is that the future looks healthy for K-actor Jang Geun Seok. This weekend he revealed to a news program that he had recently had thyroid cancer surgery, after being diagnosed over a year ago. This would explain why he hasn’t been active during that time. Thyroid cancer if caught early has a very high treatment success rate and surgery isn’t even always necessary so this past year he’s been in treatment until taking this medical step. Wishing him a smooth recovery and return to living life to the fullest, which sounds like he is on his way to doing as he also shared that he will be taking a vacation in two weeks after recuperation is complete.
Aww this is bad news. But glad to hear he is on the mend. I am a fan since Bethoven’s virus. Last watch was that drama with Yoo Inna. Have a good vacation, Geun seok-shi.

Oh no! I haven’t heard about him in a long time and it’s sad that this is the first update in awhile. At least it was caught and that there is a high treatment success rate. It sounds like he is in recovery so I do hope he is better now. Sending good wishes for his continued recovery
He hasn’t really been active after his military service ended, I hope he can bounce back up

My younger sister had thyroid cancer in 2019. It is recoverable. She’s functioning like a normal person as long as she takes the meds prescribed by her endocrinologist and goes in for her quarterly checkups. Hoping the same trajectory for him. The first few months recovering are the hardest, especially after the radiation session.
I liked his KDrama “Bait”. I thought the story was more interesting at the beginning (before to know if the villain was alive or not). I wished they developped his character but he was good as a cop.
I remember being a small fan of him 15yrs ago…. but it did not last too long. I am glad he is recovering…
I wish him the best . An interesting and charismatic actor with a career that seems to reflect his personnality . I like him . I watched Decoy in which he was good as it was one of my faves actresses Lee Elijah .
I hope he’s doing okay and wish him a speedy and full recovery.
