So a bit of levity and curiosity for this week courtesy of C-ent producer Yu Zheng. He posted a fawning SNS update this week introducing a new actress he signed to his agency, gushing over her beauty and how he wasn’t planning to sign anyone else since he added four rookies this year already but couldn’t pass her up because she was just THAT BEAUTIFUL. He’s normally full of shit and hyperbole but I gotta admit she’s naturally gorgeous, C-netizens are saying she looks like a cross between top Taiwanese stars mode Lin Chi Ling and singer Hebe Tian. But the most hilarious thing is her name which is Zhang Shi Tou (张石头) which 石头 shi tou literally means Rock. Like her name is so old-fashioned it belong to the era of illiteracy a hundred years ago and more when poor countryside families named their kids after household items like hammer, cleaver, or numbers like one, two, three, or things in the wild like rock, rice paddy, tree, you get the drift. Anyways, Ms. Zhang Shi Tou either is really named that or has an intentionally hilarious stage name for whatever reason.
His approach in introducing his actresses and actors at times feels like a state fair competition trying to win a blue ribbon for best cow or pigs. Super awkward and funny. She almost looks like his last favored actress that did not pan out well. Hope she fares well.

She looks like a 2nd FL that’s pretty but lacks a unique memorable heroine quality, similar to Sally Liu who is prettier IMO and more memorable but still gets typecast as a 2nd FL.
As much as people slam Zhao Liying, Zhao Lusi, Yangzi etc for being “plain” versus prettier actresses, they have that X factor quality that makes audiences want to root for them as underdog FLs. Being conventionally beautiful doesn’t really attract fans, or else Wang Churan or Song Zuer would be more popular
Zhao Liying is pretty though, but leaning towards the cute side. I don’t think she should be put into the same category as Zhao Lusi and Yang Zi, she is so much better than them.

Yang Zi is never considered ‘plain looking’. She’s known for being an UGLY country bumpkin who loves to stir drama with her female costars. During the filming of Noble Aspirations, YZ throw a fit coz everyone was going gaga over ZLY beauty. In order not to disrupt the filming, ZLY told everyone to stop ‘praising’ her and instead pay more attention to YZ. On the other hand netizens buzz was getting stronger complaining for casting YZ coz she’s too ugly to play 陆雪琪. With all these drama going outside and during filming made YZ acted bratty forcing her male co stars to call her ‘beautiful’ that she accidentally caused LYF to get injured by a sword. LYF got so mad that he refused to do any promotions or any projects with YZ. Only ZLY did promotions with YZ but still got attacked by YZ yxh+ fans coz apparently ZLY was making YZ look ugly next to her.

But this girl is honestly very normal looking? Like, she’s pretty/cute but I don’t understand how her visuals were so outstanding that he just HAD to add her? Zhao Qing is her name. I can’t recall so I had to look it up. She isn’t memorable in terms of looks and talents. Yu zheng often misses out on what is pretty and what is average looking. I guess anyone in skirts is pretty to him.
Perhaps Yu Zheng wants Zhao Qing to steal scenes from Zhou Ye. But sorry even if Zhou Ye isn’t brilliant in acting, she is captivating …. Some ppl just have the X factor, even in small doses.
