Modern Romance C-drama You Are My Lover Friend with Zhang Xin Cheng and Wang Yu Wen Wraps Run with Decent 6.7 Douban Ratings and Strong Word of Mouth — 7 Comments

  1. It was a bit slow with their romance but still entertaining and the side characters were hilarious and endearing. Not sure if it is so realistic but they did a better job portraying the awkwardness of friends to lovers trope than most.

  2. She’s really comfortable to watch cos she doesn’t have the over-the-top cutesy acting many female leads in modern drama have. And she has chemistry with her male leads. I enjoyed both her dramas with Wang Ziqi and Zhang Xincheng.

  4. I really enjoyed watching The Love You Give Me with her and Wang Ziqi. That kid actor adds a lot of cute hijinks. If someone told me that was their secret love child in real life, I’d believe it. The casting was so perfect. I’ll have to check this one out later.

  5. I like this one, it’s very simple and cute. The actors have a good chemistry. It changed from the last modern Cdramas when the ML is in love with the FL since college but she didn’t know, then they work together and he’s kinda her mentor…

  6. It really deserves better. I hope it’ll get higher later. At least 7 point something. Of course, from me it’s 8 lol.

Slow romance indeed but friends to lovers trope supposed to be done like that. Because they put their friendship at risk by telling each other how they feel, no?

Wang Yuwen is that girl who you watch her comfortably. I love seeing her with Steven Zhang (and they are best friends in real life for 16 years) and Wang ZiQi. She seens like an easy going person and a friend to her co-star. She deserves more recognitions.

  7. No way…it was an absolute snoozer. Not just slow, but snail crawl; pushed to watch until ep 14, then skipped to the end. This show is a no drama, drama. It was also annoying that a director and a CEO have such low EQ and poor communications skills when the narrative keeps telling me how much smart the leads are. But they are not. They are dumb-all!!! The 2nds and 3rds stories were better.
