Tencent Releases First Posters for Just Started Filming Modern Romance C-drama Shine on Me with Song Wei Long and Zhao Jin Mai
I like that C-drama production often release first concept posters right at the start of filming. It gives viewers an idea of what the leads will look like and a feel for the mood the production is going for. Modern romance C-drama Shine on Me adapted from a Gu Man novel titled Blazing Sunlight was one of the big IP drama adaptations on deck this year and got a lot of attention on the casting of the leads. The project has ended up in the hands of Song Wei Long and Zhao Jin Mai and I can’t say I’m fully onboard with this pairing but I’m open to being pleasantly surprised. The promo posters as expected feature a lot of sunlight shining on the faces of the cast. I like it, reminding me to get more warm sun these days during the winter months haha.
Song weilong is superrr handsome butbI remember not really liking his acting much before (aka a decent to bad actor). I wonder how much he improved now. It would be a waste of such visuals to not have any acting prowess

I used to like the novel so much (book 1). So this one is one of my most anticipated dramas. But, Song Weilong… sigh. Why didn’t they cast someone older? But Jinmay will eaaatt this role tho.
Song Weilong and Zhao Jinmai is visually compatible for this drama.. Hopefully Jinmai can help Weilong relaxed in his character. Weilong’s did well enough in Go Ahead was because the casts were just so solid and they helped him mould into his role.
On his own, Weilong still needs lots of work and acting lessons.
I have only watched Weilong in Go Ahead and Find Yourself. Go Ahead had a great story and cast, while his acting matched the awkwardness of the character in Find Yourself.
The character in the book Blazing Sunlight is bland and the story itself is uninteresting. Don’t think much acting skills will be required.. and I doubt the script/ story can be changed much. Posters looks nice though.. but not really looking forward to the drama..
SWL and Zhang LingHe look so much alike, they are like bio sibs.
All I notice is that hair volume on the main lead lol and I barely recognized the female lead. They really polished her looks in the poster. He is a hit and miss though. I wish that his other drama with Angela baby came out though even if they both are known for spotty acting but the drama seemed interesting. Oh well.
