First Cute Poster and Teaser for tvN Office Rom-com K-drama My Dear Nemesis — 7 Comments

  1. Oh my! We are back to department store chaebol. I haven’t seen one of these in a drama in ages. I wonder if they are going to put a new spin on it😊

  2. Sometimes I cannot tell if MGY is just a one tricky pony actress, or she picks the same characters again and again. Her expressions on the teaser reminds me of practically any character she played in her past many many dramas. Other than that, she looks so pretty in pink and the teaser looks cute.

ps @Koala will you cover the Song Joong Ki and Lee Sung Min drama? I am curious what the i fans think since kfans are pouring down on SJK like boiling water.

      • I’ll hazard a guess @? is talking about the recent press conference where SJK shed a few tears over how hard they work on movies but they aren’t getting the support in terms of ticket sales. And that in general, the movie industry is struggling. Bogota flopped pretty hard at the box office. Knetz are mocking him and asking he lower his fees if he’s so upset over it, and that if the movie was worth the 40k won, they’d have gone to the theatres to watch. I don’t think the international media is covering it but it’s quite the controversy with 1k+ comments on TQ. Another proof Koala doesn’t just write articles for views. She likes SJK so this is probably not something she’d want to cover. Personally, I agree with knetz in general but also think it got blown out of proportion.

      • I think what the commenter meant by “drama” is something like fiasco, issue, brouhaha, etc., not drama as in TV series/show. I also think she’s talking about Song Joong Ki crying on a press con because his movie is not doing well and barely anyone watched it

  3. I wish they chose an older actor to play a director… She had so much chemistry with her past partners. I loved her in The Interest of Love with YYS. They were great with difficult characters. She’s still young and they made her playing the noona.

  4. In the webtoon, the characters are actually college students—female lead is 22/23 and male lead is 19/20. So personally both actors could still pull off the webtoon counterparts age-wise. It’s obvious the screenwriter changed the setting from campus to department store to make the story more appealing for the screen. The webtoon happens in 2008 and the first meeting between the characters does start off on the wrong foot like in the drama, but their relationship officially makes progression when male lead moves into female lead’s building as he has moved to Seoul to attend college. While I do like sugary sweet chaebol romances, I wouldn’t mind a simpler slice-of-life setting.

I did think Choi Hyunwook is kind of boyish to pull off the role of a director in his thirties, but in the stills, he seemed convincing to separate his character’s office and private life personas.
