Yang Zi’s Female Empowerment Period C-drama Family Business Has Fans Loving Her Costuming and Visuals
We may be seeing the pendulum swing back to more natural costumes and visuals, viewer response has been positive on dramas with those looks versus the ones with so much ornate knick knacks and a rainbow vomit of colors. The period C-drama Family Business (Jia Ye) recently wrapped filming with Yang Zi as the top billed female lead and Han Dong Jun (Elvis Han) joining her as the female lead. It’s a period story about the ink trade and a female empowerment tale, which Yang Zi is doing again after Flourished Peony but hey if it works then keep at it. I’m seeing industry chatter very happy with her costuming, hair, and makeup in the leaked stills from the set for this drama, which reportedly Yang Zi spent her own time and money to bring in her staff to create. What viewers like is that she looks pretty and pseudo-realistic for the period as opposed to actresses that insist on modern tweaks to their visuals even in period dramas.

Thanks for posting thisss! Ive been following cams for this dramas production and l end up loving all costumes and it also has very interesting hairdo details for kids too. I always like YZ in a costume drama and learning HDJ was lead guy made me happier. I was kinda tired of rewatching him in Secret of 3 Kingdoms…
I also prefer more simple costumes. But another female empowerment drama? Have other genres fallen out of fashion?, Wuxia for instance which is my favorite type among C-dramas or better said used to be. What I loved the most about Wuxia was it taking place in Jianghu universe while having some historical elements and last but not least the martial arts clans. Nonetheless, I feel Wuxia has also changed (or maybe I got it wrong from the beginning). It used to be mystical but now I feel they are more focused on politics, schemes or court tensions. They are even more aligned to filming war scenes rather than one-on-one fights. In conclusion, they are closer to historical genere while the mystical element is weakened. I also like historical drama but when it really has its roots in real history (3 Kingdoms for example) not depicting some imaginary era, dynasty or monarch. I check this blog and MDL to see whether such kind of C-drama is on the horizon and couldn’t find a one yet.
her fans can only like the super photoshopped and extremely whitewashed photos of Yang Zi. Because Yang Zi and her fans hates Yang Zi real face from her super bloated dark face before to her now thinner face but with extremely deep and super visible nasolabial folds that are like etched on her face. You can never see Yang Zi or any of her fans posting photos with her real face because they are disgusted by it which is sad
I hope you get the help you need
yeah I hope Yang Zi and her fans can accept her real face. those super deep and very visible nasolabial folds that are ETCHED on her face just get deeper and deeper
show your face then uggo. let us all critique it too
I think it is a boring drama with the same acting.
Same Yang Zi acting lol : mechanical
Looking forward to it… Hope it is not another multi-season drama…
Seeing the haters being mad makes me so happy. It shows that they aren’t happy with her cause she’s doing better than they imagined
Anyways I’m excited for this drama and for this pairing
Am I the only one that noticed that koala has been giving some incorrect info in her latest posts…
This drama started airing last year and has wrapped up today but she said that it “recently started filming” and also she said yang zi “spent her time and money to bring in her staff to create” but i still remember how her fans rioted on weibo last year after they saw leaks of the drama with the bad make-up and hairstyle and they had to refilm her wedding scene because of it so it baffles me seeing whag koala wrote
yz seems just doing the same thing again and again. offering the same reheated dish. when was the last time you got excited about her next drama? as a fan I wish she will go out from her comfort zone bec offering the same white lotus character just gets boring. it seems yz is in the same predicament as Cheng Yii, both are stuck in doing the same thing that even fans will have difficulty to differentiate one from another. Marketing every drama as ‘hit’ yet the follow up project is still the same level of production and worst just look like the same thing as the previous one. It seems 88 is more steady in choosing her projects by accepting different drama genres and now she’s joining a big filming crew as one of the main cast and not just a cameo or special participation.
you literally just exposed yourself lol no need to argue with you
Ohhh I’m excited for this one cause I read the novel and loved it
And besides yang zi has grown on me since lost you forever and I absolutely loved flourished peony (waiting impatiently for part 2) so will definitely check this one out
