Hou Ming Hao Lands Period C-drama Inverted Fate with Actresses Chen Yi Han, Sun Zhenni, and He Nan in the Running for Female Lead
So period C-drama Inverted Fate was reportedly going to Zhao Lu Si late last year as the top billed female lead. But that planned has clearly been scrapped as all casting rumors say the male lead is now Hou Ming Hao and he will be top billed. As such, there is no way Zhao Lu Si is doing this drama anymore and this week the production is in active talks with a few actresses for the female lead role. The first name thrown out was He Nan, then came Sun Zhenni, and the most recent candidate is Chen Yi Han. I’m good with all three and any of them, a fresh pairing and I think they can all act and have unique pretty faces so bonus points for that. His fandom is griping that those actresses aren’t big enough names so lol on that, it doesn’t look great when they don’t think their man can hard carry a drama himself.

I really liked Sun Zhenni so she would my favorite choice.
I like Hou Minghao (though not the over-the-top makeup he wears in several of his dramas. LOL. I loved how he looked in I Am Nobody, without too much outline), so Sun Zhenni is my bet. I find her to be a decent actress and that her visuals match well with his.
HMH does nothing for me…his face is SO distracting due to all the PS, and his acting has not been impressive.
Hou Minghao is a lot more talented than many actors in C-dramas. They just have more powerful backing, right? Let’s not kid ourselves here. I’m currently watching Linghe’s historical drama, and he doesn’t have half the talent Hou Minghao has. He’s definitely overrated. Tian Xi Wei is superb, however, and the only reason I’m finishing the drama.
I still find ZLH’s facial expressions in Cashing Jade to be on the restricted side. It’s similar to his past performances. The bar is so buried that just because he’s made an improvement, some folks are already calling him outstanding. LOL.
Third option sounds best for me too. Sun zhenni has just been doing so well in her recent roles that I am rooting for her. Even if she does not get chosen for some reason I really like her and look forward to her future projects. The main male lead is just an easy going male lead to watch. He just does well so far from what I have seen and makes decent choices in dramas so far nothing ground breaking but still a watchable lead.
I’m not a big fan of the first two actresses, Sun Zhenni is okay, she is cute. Its probably not an S+ drama anymore. I like HMH, but I do think he is used way too much. I agree he needs a good strong actress or his shows tend to be meh.
is S+ another way of saying “serious drama”? cuz most “serious” chinese dramas and S+ bored me because of their direction lacking the entertaining factor. there was good writing, there was talent but the execution didn’t grip me. they felt like a documentary.
Yep! C-dramas for “intellectuals” have a penchant for being terribly slow-paced.
Rooting for Sun Zhenni!
Not the 2nd girl, please, she was so cringey as 2FL princess in LITC.
I root for Sun Zhen Ni, I can really imagine her flirting up a storm with HMH !
Li He Nan looks great in hanfu but her acting is one of the worst I’ve seen in C-dramas.
Why wouldn’t Zhao Lusi work with Hou Minghao? Just curious.

I think because he is such a good actor he has this much project, LMAO…. I can feel his acting decline after loves in the clouds Project? I don’t like his acting much in GLory, But that drama has some good ensemble cast and entertaining to watch it doesn’t matter much.
I Have fun with his recent drama Glory and Loves in the clouds. Not the best writing nor the best ensemble cast, but very entertaining with notable some memorable performances.
I really enjoy his performances in Loves in the clouds so much. Would love to see him has that much emotional investment with his character again.
