Xianxia C-drama Love Beyond with Grave with Dilraba Dilmurat and Chen Fei Yu Gear Up for March 28th Premiere on Tencent — 11 Comments

  1. I like the visuals. I just hope there’s a good entertainment factor because I haven’t genuinely concentrated on any xianxia in years. And while the odds of me appreciating Miles Wei’s acting are high, the writing and pacing of the plot remain my determinants when it comes to moving forward episode by episode.

    • Honestly the entire cast isn’t giving anything. Really odd. I can’t neither appreciate Miles acting nor his face. Almost 40 years old and still didn’t breakthrough lol. I find him a an robot in many performance. For once, i agree he should stay there. However, i still dream of seeing an actor like Liu Xueyi getting a major breakthrough.

      • Hmmm. I think OP was referring to the fact that MW is going to play an antagonist and he has done well with villainous roles. BTW, I always see you complaining about nepotism, connections and talentless actors, but then you mock one because he hasn’t had a breakthrough, even though the low visibility of competent actors is related to what you’re criticizing. Lol. It’s the same situation with LXY, isn’t it?

It’s not a good idea to use popularity and talent as interchangeable “arguments” whenever it suits you. Lol. This bad habit is common on Chinese forums, and I see that it’s already catching on among overseas fans.

  2. Chen Feiyu doesn’t have the on-screen presence to convince me that he’s a tough, intriguing, trick-filled young general. I get the impression that he is going to play a rookie soldier who is easy to be bewitched by the exotic entity that is the female lead. Lol. I’ve never found Dilraba to be an interesting actress but I see that she can be adequate as a Demon Highness. It is only an initial observation, I’ll have to watch the episodes to see if I change my mind. I like the novel anyway.

    • Having read the novel and seen almost all of Dilraba and Chen Feiyu’s projects, I also don’t think they have the necessary range. LOL. I appreciate the looks of both leads, and since I’m team script, I’m just hoping for a plot that engages me. I rarely like xianxia adaptations anyway.

      • I don’t think they’ve faithfully adapted the novel so the characters will probably be a lot more one-dimensional. As long as the leads are serviceable, it’ll be fine. At the end of the day they didn’t exactly become popular because of their talent.

  3. Oh Nepo boy ready to play his zombie self. He has zero ability to pull this off. I guess it will depend on DD if she can carry it.

  4. Pursuit of Jade gave me a pleasant surprise. Therefore, I’ll also check this one. lol.
It’s the first time a C drama outperforming K dramas on Netflix global chart, excluding the idol drama starring BlackPink Jisoo, which I don’t take seriously cuz Jisoo still can’t act after giving covetous leading roles for years. I believe a childish cosplay done by any BTS member can also top Netflix anytime. lol

  5. I’m not one for Miles Wei’s looks, but I’m sure he’s going walk circles around ML & FL even if they have improved.
