Zhao Lu Si Considering Youku S+ Budget Xianxia C-drama The Adventures of Jian Chou — 10 Comments

  1. I noticed she’s been active on Youku a lot recently. Last year after her break and prepping her comeback with a concert, I was surprised to see her concert appearing in the “coming soon” section. Then recently she got the whole tv show “No funny, no money” on Youku as well, and now this 🤔I wouldn’t mind if she does this drama. I like badass Lusi.

      • That makes sense then. I just know she is a Wetv ambassador so I thought she’d have more content there. But if her agency owns Youku then it’d sure be nice to see more works by her on another platform other than Wetv.

  2. She also has a few new songs out. I thought she’d be laying low with dramas for much longer TBH. Drama’s grueling schedule and memorization needed is no joke. Even taking 3 years of break wouldnt be too outrageous

    • Wouldn’t that be risky though to take a 3 year break? Like the more she is seen by people other than her fans they won’t forget her perseverance to not quit. It does not seem as much right now compared to before. So she can take her time without burning out like she almost did. Compared to before where it seemed she was doing too much and did not seem to have time to breathe in between projects. She just seems more chill with it right now. It seems to be working for her somehow. Just hope her fan base in the meantime don’t stir up much trouble or controversy in the meantime so her reputation can repair and she can ease her way into her acting projects however she feels and prefers.

      • Yeah it’s risky, but what’s riskier is ignoring what her body needs. She has a strong enough fanbase that can withstand her out of the limelight for a few years. It’s not like she’s completely out – she can still do commercials, music and variety shows to keep up appearances without stressing too much. Or even better, guest star in other drama projects!

I predicted she won’t die in popularity even with all the hoopla about being frozen with her last company. People kept arguing she’d lose her fanbase quick because she had no projects on hand and publicizing complaints will only diminish her chances – which was total bollocks to me. So I’m glad she is still hot on the markets and she will continue to be until she’s much older.

  3. Curious about it! This would be Zhao Lusi’s first drama filmed after her hiatus and I wonder if it would have an effect on her acting.
