Ahn Hyo Seob and Chae Won Bin Embark on Classic Rom-com Antics in SBS K-drama Sold Out on You
Other than as his voice actor turn as Saja Boy leader Jinu in last summer’s mega hit Netflix animated movie K-pop Demon Hunters I’ve been wondering where Ahn Hyo Seob went. It’s been three years since his last K-drama the underwhelming A Time Called You but now he’s back this month with SBS rom-com Sold Out on You with female lead Chae Won Bin. This is going to be a test of his ability to hard carry a drama since she’s not that well known despite being in supporting and a few lead roles, and also weekday drama ratings remain in single digits mostly in K-drama land. He plays a prickly rich farm owner and she’s the successful host of a television shopping program and theirs is the type of opposites attract healing romance set up that works if they have strong chemistry and a compelling growth narrative. The drama premieres April 22nd on SBS.

There have been a lot of similar themed dramas lately, but I wonder if they can pull in ratings because sometimes these are sweet and fun and sometimes no plot in sight but filler and romance, which is nice but when it lacks a good plot one can get bored and look elsewhere. I’m sure they will do well.
AHS had been filming the Omniscient Reader movie, which was pretty much a box office bomb (not because of him, but because the adaptation writing and production values were poor). Kim Bum will also be in it. I know this probably finished filming before Dynamite Kiss and Our Universe aired, but I hope this rom-com can avoid the dreaded love triangle from those dramas.
Not a fan of a slice of life drama or rom com. But AHS’ Business Proposal is still my favorite rom com throughout East and West so far. I’m more allergic to overacting than underacting. Some ppl whined about AHS’ underwhelming acting. But I’ve enjoyed his on screen presence most of the time. I’ll check out this drama just to watch him. lol
He must get millions to be in sequel for kdh. Everyone stuck gold. Even ejae who is landing endorsements and people live saja boys and he is voice of jinu
He’s another bland actor im ok to not see on my screen lol. At one point in time a few years ago, him, rowoon and song kang were everywhereee. All bland and mediocre af. Im glad those days are gone!
