SBS Fri-Sat Drama Agent Kim Reactivated Breaks 20% Ratings in Episode 4 as Viewers Tune in for Ahjusshi Comedy and Kickass
It’s so wonderful to see the resurgence of K-dramas in the last few weeks, a bit like if we believe the quality and thrills will come back. Fri-Sat drama Agent Kim Reactivated has set a record in the first week and now in the second week continues to soar in ratings. Episode 3 brought in 18.8% and episode 4 went into the twenties territory with 21.6% ratings. Incredible to behold and totally deserving, the drama is just aweeeeeeesome! I love it so much, the three spy turned daddies So Ji Sub, Choi Dae Hoon, and Yoon Kyung Ho are hilarious and super kickass, antagonist Joo Sang Wook is so scary and charismatic, Kim Sung Kyu drops by as a North Korean super soldier with a vendetta, and newcomer teen daughter Seo Soo Min is a breath of fresh air. We even have Taecyeon in a fun cameo role! If you’re not watching this you’re missing out, get on the boat so you don’t miss an event drama.
Why are there no dramas like this in China? There are very few modern c-dramas compared to historical and fantasy. Is there no appetite for such shows?
There are tho but c-mainstream dramas are not popular among international viewers. You probably only care/watch about idol dramas.
Censorship completely kills creative writing and direction. It’s so hard for these kinds of stories to bypass Chinese state censorship because they always touch on government corruption, and the CCP is terrified of the insinuation, lol.
I tried many “serious” (lol) dramas but eventually had to drop cuz they were so boring and fake. lol again.

It’s well deserved! The acting is great, So Jisub really proved how well he suits dad/dad-figure roles with My Secret Terius but this is even better, young Seo Soomin is also doing an excellent job as his daughter and the ex-agent ajusshi crew are so funny and have great chemistry with each other.
21 percent in just 4 eps, it’s like pre 2013 drama ratings all over again, they’ll probably make a second season for this like they did with Taxi Driver.
I dove right into this show, and every episode has been absolutely gripping. Unlike Good Boy, which prioritized action over depth, this series delivers plenty of thrills without ever losing its substance. SJS definitely slays it.
Just as I predicted in another thread, Agent Kim Reactivated has already overtaken Teach You a Lesson in viewership. It is now sitting comfortably at the #1 spot on Netflix’s Global Top 10 Non-English Shows chart. The viewership is pretty impressive, way ahead #2 and #3.
