Kim Go Eun Takes Home the Daesang at the 2026 Blue Dragon Series Awards as The Legend of Kitchen Soldier Wins Best K-drama
The 2026 Blue Drama Series Awards, the 5th iteration since the formerly movie only ceremony expanded to television, took place this past week and got to highlight dramas that may not have gotten as big in ratings but clearly was quality works is worth a watch. Kim Go Eun, already a multi award winner in both movies and dramas in previous years and across other award circuits, got the Daesang for her performance in You and Everything Else. The drama didn’t win Best Drama which went to recently aired The Legend of Kitchen Soldier, a true ensemble piece and where Yoon Kyung Ho took home Best Supporting Actor in it. Best Actress went to Shin Hye Sun for The Art of Sarah and Best Actor to Park Hae Soo in The Scarecrow. Veteran actress Park Bo Kyung won Best Supporting Actress for The Art of Sarah and one of the highlights was seeing her with real life husband and award winning actor Jin Sun Kyu walk the red carpet and support each other as fellow nominees. All in all a good night for quality television and performances getting the due recognition.
I don’t understand her or her career. She would be nowhere if she wasn’t part of a barren generation of actresses who essentially got zero opportunities in dramas.
She has the career that PSH fans had hoped for PSH to have. KGE was always a critics darling and has had a steady career despite the set backs from CIIT and TKEM. It’s good to see her and KTR as well as LJY thriving and basically stealing all the thunder from their child actress counterparts who had more opportunities. PBY is perhaps the only child actress from her generation who is holding on to prestige projects and awards but SSK with her Baeksang Award should be able to comeback stronger now.
Same i dont get her or her career at all. she is a very average actress imo. the way she portrayed her character in little women was the same way she portrayed her character in cheese in the trap. she always uses the same derpy face and mouth acting/pouting to get her point across, and alot of the times it doesnt match the dialogue. very odd.
A lot of hate here from people who knows acting lol. I am. Not even a fan but man the comments here are so unmerited. Sure there are shows I don’t like her in like the king eternal monarch. But she can act. Drop the hate and be objective she wouldn’t get a unanimous and the youngest actress to win the best actress award for pamyo. Keep your hate and hope your fave actresses make a comeback. The girl really is a good actress whether you think it or not. She did so well in the price of confession and you me and everything else. I suggest you watch those.
Ironically, The King: Eternal Monarch is the one drama that made me appreciate KGE. Before that, I was indifferent to her performance in every role. It’s honestly a joke to compare her to Park Shin hye. They are in completely different acting leagues. lol
I couldn’t not finish Goblin. Found her character super annoying and did not find any chemistry btw her and Gong Yoo. I will never understand the hype for that show.
Love her and I loved seeing the people around her so excited for her win.
I’ve got to check out The Legend of Kitchen Soldier. This is actually the first time I’ve ever heard of this drama, lol. It sounds like a lot of fun!
I’m loving this drama right now. Comedy is rarely my cup of tea, but dang, The Legend of Kitchen Soldier is so much fun to watch! I’ve never laughed so hard from the get-go to the end, lol. Brilliant direction!
Love her and been a fan of her since her Cheese in the trap days and how she challenges herself with different characters. I only realized how talented and how dedicated to a role she was when I saw her doing that Shaman ritual scene on Exhuma and I was just blown away. Congrats!
I also love the suporting actress and her husband CP. So sweet and so proud of each other. I think them walking on the red carpet generated more chemistry vibes than those from a younger/popular generation promoting a romance drama. The husband crying when she won was so touching…
Park Bo Kyung’s sppech was absolutely lovely. If you haven’t seen her speech or all the videos of Jin Sun Kyu crying (sobbing) happy tears for her, just look them up. They are all over social media. Such a great love story for a long time–like something out of a drama.
Congrats to the winners! I felt that it was a rewarding ceremony overall where rightful nominees got their awards and everyone looked like they were enjoying themselves.

I have watched kdrama since 2010 and there are certain actresses that I just can’t bring myself to care about despite their hype. Their projects just never excite me.
This includes Gong hyo jin, ha ji won and Kim Go Eun.
Man, even a good acctress like Kim Go Eun has a haters and critics andlessly. talk about envy she is getting the accolades

Kim go Eun is easily a talented actress. I remember trying to convince my friend that her acting was not just good, it was excellent and she wasn’t sold. I knew she was excellent after goblin. Then that same friend saw her in the price of confession and could not stop singing her praises🤣. Kim go Eun is a glaringly excellent actress, it’s a bit too obvious to see. Also whether one likes eternal monarch or not, Kim go Eun was excellent in it, she played two characters and absolutely nailed it. Nobody can point out any role she didn’t nail and that’s a fact. Congratulations Kim go Eun, absolutely well deserved💕
Love KGE, and Shin Hye Sun deserves it for The Art of Sarah.
man the time of korean dramas thriving is long gone. I haven’t heard none of these dramas nor have I seen them creating international buzz

She’s one of the most talented Korean actress of her generation with a chameleon like ability to disappear into her characters, many would give their teeth for.
