K-actor Jang Dong Yoon Announces Marriage to Costar Actress Kim Seung Yoon
Well the news of this K-ent star couple nuptials feels like neither have the star power to make fans care too much beyond being annoyed at some fund raising activity around a movie. K-actor Jang Dong Yoon, most recently in Queen Mantis and My Man is Cupid but probably most famous for The Tale of Nokdu, announced this week he is marrying fellow actress and former costar Kim Seung Yoon. They likely met on the set of Nokdu where she had a small supporting role, and since then have done two movies together Please Be My Ear and The Yeast where he both directed and acted and she was the female lead. I’m glad to hear two young stars dated and are getting married and wish them the best. But his fandom is annoyed that he basically cast his girlfriend as the female lead in two movies he directed and for The Yeast there was even a fan fundraising event for the movie that gifted perks for fans donating more which included a fan signing session with him. The annoyance is that he milked his still single status with fans while they paid for him to make a movie with his girlfriend. While valid or not, this will pass so best wishes to the happy couple.
I always wondered what happened to him. I thought his star was on the rise at one point but he suddenly disappeared almost completely and then resurfaced adter the military with random projects.
Joseon exorcist happened. I’m still bitter abt that nonsensical cancellation of the show abt freaking zombies 🙄
Thought he was great in The Tale of Nokdu. Saw a couple of episodes of Like Flowers in Sand in which he’d obviously put a lot of effort into ‘being’ the character – weight gain. Was again impressed with what I saw of his performance but stopped watching it for some reason. Think I should check out more of his work.

Congratulations. Marriage is a good thing and glad to see this trend continuing in S. Korea. Wishing him the best and also wishing he can have an upswing in his career. He’s a good actor.
Oh right, because fan support instantly evaporates and they bitch about him the second he enters a relationship? LMAO. Imagine genuinely believing that a celebrity’s entire career hinges on their relationship status. The level of delusion is honestly impressive.
